It was Al Qaeda now?

Wait, I think it was Al Qaeda that stole my lunch money back in fourth grade. I wasn't sure at the time, but it makes sense. They hated my freedom to buy what I wanted for lunch.

Its amazing how convenient horrific events can be for BushCo.

Exactly. I really believe we need to quit using the word terrorist entirely. It obscures what they are fighting us about, and hysterically oversimplifies the issue. As you point out, Bush is fond of saying freedom was attacked, freedom haters attacked us, etc.

He does this to avoid the questions that should be asked, such as why do they hate us so much they are willing to die to kill some of us? And maybe even what we can do to stop their hatred of us.

The UN was bombed to put the world on notice, that the previous week's resolution half way condoning the US occupation was the world turning their backs on Iraq. And they were angry. And it worked. Now UN members, scared to death and are now roundly refusing to contribute troops unless they are under UN control. This is the best move they can make. The result will be that they either get control of Iraq and Bush's campaign contributors abandon his ass as their prized pig gets away, or Bush will be nakedly exposed, holding on to a quagmire like a child to a toy, showing his real interest is in the spoils of war.

3. I think He wants the UN to take over

I capitalize He because Bush has been elevated to Godlike status.
But the best thing that could happen for him right now would be for the UN to come in with troops that are under UN control, and to have the UN handle setting up a new nation. Hell, they might actually find Saddam and NOT shoot him on sight.

Bush got himself into one hell of a mess, and he doesn't have daddy to clean it up like in the old days (you know, ten years ago). But above all Bush is a spoiled rich kid, and the only people who can bail his ass out now are the ones that he snubbed in his rush to war.

4. I smell desperation.

This whole sordid scenario is so much more transparent than the previous Rovian machinations.

Let's see:
1. Precious Leader tries to get UN members to ante up troups to bail his sorry ass out of the mess he is in in Iraq.
2. Precious Leader runs into a rousing chorus of "Screw You"'s from the rest of the world.
3. Mirabile dictu the UN HQ in Iraq is blown up by parties "unknown".
4. Precious Leader claims, with the usual complete lack of evidence, that "al Quaida done did do it."
5. Precious Leader uses his unsubstantiated assertion of al Quaida responsibility for the bombing in another appeal to other countries to bail him out.

Kinda takes the "unknown" out of "parties unknown", doesn't it?
