the immigration process to move to Vancouver, BC, but you need to know someone and some other things that I don't have. Then I got over it and looked at little into Costa Rica and New Zealand. New Zealand actively recruits Californians to come live there. I love Canada, though.

I'm just depressed that WHEN Kerry wins, the right wing wackos will be worse than they were during the Clinton years, and I don't know if I can take it.

It is a wonderful place to live..peacful friendly people..and a one hour flight to the usa..if i should want to be in the USA. we will go to vote in november..and visit family. I love vague paranoid warnings.

Things in the US are terrible and about to get worse. But if there is martial law, having/not having a passport isn't going to matter. And if there isn't martial law, the surface of things will still run smoothly for a while, it's the underneath that is rotting through.

it will matter once you leave the usa if you do not have the passport. yes, it is true that if there is martial law, it would be impossible to leave right away..to travel even to borders. But this is not paranoia, it is common sense at this point in time to hope for the best, but be prepared for the worse. At the very least, it will not hurt you to have a passport. Talk to the decendents of Hitlers time...people thought it could never happen..and it did..many waited too long to leave. I am not saying this IS going to happen in the USA, just that it does not hurt you to be prepared..and now is a good time to get that passport.
