Local National Guard unit off to Iraq!
Actually, 1st Battalion, 141st Infantry, Company B will be checking in at Fort Hood first, then they'll be off to Iraq, expected deployment of one year. (Sarcastically: uh-huh. Yeah. Whatever.)

When the departure was covered on the news, they were interviewing one mother who said, "Well, it doesn't really matter what I think, it's what he wants to do," as if she had some negative comments about the tragedy in Iraq that they decided not to air.

I believe the personnel count is a little over two dozen.
