Would a parody of Rush Limbaugh work on talk radio ?
I mean, how could you tell the difference. "Ladies and gentlemen, this is Rush Foosball coming to you across the fruited plains. Out-thinking those gucci-loafing, baby-killing liberals with one-half of my brain behind my back and the other half up my rectum. I am the smartest person in the world and I am also a humorist. You may think that I talk a lot of politics, putting down those evil Democrats and DU'ers but my intent is to be funny. You should not take me seriously. Because I am not serious. Just like Al Frankien said, I am a big, fat idiot."

3. I thought Rush was a parody
that only he "got". Believe me, he laughs all the way to the bank.

4. Maybe
maybe a one time special event or, maybe a comedy sketch on another show but the material would be too repetitive and boring for an ongoing enterprise.

Just IMHO

8. Why isn't anyone doing Rush parodies?
Edited on Sun Aug-24-03 08:20 PM by RatTerrier
Rush IS comedy material!!!

Problem is, too many people working in radio are right-wing, hence thin-skinned when it comes to skewering their own.

I recorded a liner (in my deepest, bombastic voice) for Bartcop's streaming radio show. Along the lines of: Hello my friends, this is Rush Lowbrow. When I'm not bumping to the Indigo Girls, I'm tuned in to Bartcop Radio." Did it over the Pretenders bed that Rush uses ("My City Was Gone"). Bart liked it.

I almost wish I still was in radio, I've got a million Rush parodies in my head, and no outlet. But then again, If I was still in broadcasting, who the hell would let me do it?

I'll try and post the file up sometime (in the middle of switching systems now).
