Visited relatives in Tennessee over the week-end, all have lost their jobs , their employer moved to his business to China, sometime over the summer.
They voted for Jr. in 2000, and swore to me they will back Howard Dean in 04!!
Word of mouth is a powerful thing, especially to people who lost jobs and homes after 25-30 years of employment.

1. Good for you!!
Glad to have them voting on the Dems side - no matter who the candidate turns out to be! As long as it's NOT bush.

:bounce:

4. Interesting report
I'm a native southerner and my gut feeling was that some southerners would support Dean. I know it makes no logical sense, but that was just my feeling.

Can you explain why your relatives said they'd support Dean? Would they have been willing to support any of the other Democratic candidates?

8. Deans work in Vermont....
Is why they choose to back him, and also, he is anti-war.
They have listened to him and said he is the only candidate that doesn't sound like a politician, or that he's giving a speech.
Dean is the real thing!

5. Outstanding-
dean mentioned something very noteworthy about small businesses today- they don't ship their jobs overseas, and the money they generate stays in the community. A very simple but profound thought which is apparently lost on corporate whoring Republicans.

6. That Is "Noteworthy"! Thanks for reporting on that!
That just kinda sums it up, doesn't it?

The People who are faithfull to America and her ideals should get the breaks...not the ones who go off shore and won't pay taxes or the giant corps that move to another Country for Cheep labor.

I'm a Draft Clark supporter. But what you accomplished was fabulous for the Dem Party. It would be great if the R's pulled it all off by bringing back jobs, got Ken Lay and all the other thieving barons tossed in jail and resussitated the economy. But in his cheap labor world, that scenario isn't likely. The Dems are the real hope for working people as they were in the early part of the 20th century. The Dems are the ones to halt the erosion of the gains achieved by FDR. And Dean is a good man.

You did great! :toast:

11. I have only begun...........
My goal is to turn around hundreds of voters, if not thousands. Dean is real, not like the others who talk like they have rehearsed their remarks. Bring on the debates!!

9. Hell of a way to get a vote, though.
I can't rejoice over people being out of work (unless they have trust funds).

13. A Bus!!
My husband laughs at me and says I should buy a bus, travel around with a sound horn on top and drive it around and bash Bush!!!
I am not afraid to talk to people about the Dictator wannabe, all I tell them is that a vote for Bush is a vote for AshKKKroft. You should see the minds start thinking!!

And i will ride around with you and Bash Bush. Hell, need a couch to crash on? Or do you just sleep in the bus?

You could call it your Bush Bashing Bus.

19. "I am not afraid to talk to people"
Yep, and that's the key. People want to talk to each other, they just need to be jarred out of their "cable news coma."

As for your bus, I call "shotgun!" Unless your hubby has dibs? :-)

12. Just in case
Dean doesn't win the nomination, I hope you can still convince them to vote for whoever the Democratic candidate is. Anyone but Bush!

Congratulations on your success and I agree that one-on-one is the best way to win hearts and minds.

20. My parents...
Dad - former Nixon, Reagan, Bush guy - think he voted for Clinton. Is on board with Dean all the way.

Mom - tougher, she is running for office for the Green Party, but she donates equally to Dean and the Greens.

Nothing like having firm convictions and sharing them with the people who have had first-hand experience of *'s incompetence.
