Middle East Timeline
I found this article through a mailing list. It spouts off on an admittedly alarmist point of view, but then again that's what many news sites say about our own Bev Harris, so try to read it objectively.

It's a little long, I know, but it seems quite full of information as well as links to back up most of it. It also starts off with a bunch of background I think most of you can skim through. The piece is entitled Sympathy for the Devil. It outlines how the Bushes are in fact connected to Bin Laden, as well as some of the causes of the Enron bust. I was surprised at how much linked together.

1. Why Read Patently Biased Information?
The article states:

"Rather than watch CNN, where Walter Isaacson was allowing his
people to show footage of Muslims cheering that was taken from Kuwait
in 1991, with CNN claiming the footage was of Palestinians cheering
on September 11, I chose to watch BBC."

They were celebrating on the morning of 9/11. Arafat's goons
threatened to kill Associated Press reporters who aired the footage
(I have the AP story if you want it).

QED: the author didn't like the truth, so he changed the channel.

The article then goes on:

"Most just don't want to know the truth."

I don't think article's author would know the truth if he saw
it...and if he did see it, he would just change the channel.

I'd like to see this.

4. The fact remains
The sad truth is that even if they were cheering, it was most likely a small number doing the cheering. Television has the ability to do that... to take 20 people and make it seem like a crowd of hundreds.

While American stations were drumming up support for a war, the British were being objective, trying to find the reasons why this could have happened. The mainstream media makes it seem as if they hate our liberty and our freedoms.

I'm also not sure how to respond to the possible connections between the Bush / Bin Laden connections. The article demonstrates that Bush's grandfather was a profiteer and made money in Germany during world war 2, which I've heard from other articles as well.

How would you all respond to the other parts of this article? I'd like to try to get an objective discussion regarding this, as to which parts seem totally out there and which ones seem justified. Do we think the general tone of the article, albeit a little alarmist, is justified?
