Anyone else wondering where the latest USA Today / Gallup poll is?
USA Today / Gallup typically has been releasing polls at a minimum of 3 times a month... early, mid, & late month. (http://www.pollingreport.com/bushjob2.htm)
They typically also release their poll data the day after it is completed.

Yet here we are in late August, and the only poll data from August is from a poll conducted August 4th-6th (released the 7th).

Bush has usually polled pretty high in the Gallup poll (he's still at 60), and this is perhaps the one poll that gets the most press. One wonders if the new poll has him in the low 50s (if not lower) and they are waiting on some distraction (I don't know... thawing out the body of Osama Bin Laden?) to release the data.

2. Considering that there is a rumor that Gallup conducts

its polls in the conservative middle American red states, if the poll has fallen below fifty percent, it may bode ill for Bush, so apparently the "liberal" media don't want to put it up.

4. It can't be that a lot of people who work for Gallup go on vacation
in August or that because of vacations the polling
isn't as accurate.

Does there have to be some kind of conspiracy ?

5. Okay, I'll give you that they might be polling more infrequently in Aug.
I don't think the accuracy of the poll has anything to do with vacations. But looking at the last year and a half, I notice that the only month where there were as few as 2 polls was August 2002. Perhaps August is their "light" month.

Given that, however, I'd still expect to see a new poll within the next day or so.
