3. I just got into a discussion on this

with some co-workers in our employee lounge who are watching this "coverage" on TV. One co-worker says it should stay because everyone always invokes God when something horrible happens, yet they want separation of church and state. I told him while I understand his POV, it's simply againt the law to have it there, and Moore was told to remove it. He's a judge and should abide by the law but didn't. He's not above the law and what is taking place with these people (protestors or what have you) is just sickening. Not to mention that the granite display is a monument to greed, not to serve God. I asked my co-worker what he knew about Judge Moore and he said nothing, he didn't know anything about him, just about the 10 Commandments flap, which he saw as ridiculous, that it should stay where it is. It went back and forth and I gained nothing except to air my side and to dispense some much-needed background on Moore. I guess it becomes a "monumental" waste of time to try and reason with some people.

This guy said that the Federal judge is violating the law because it's the feds interferring in state's rights. He says that the ruling was illegal. He goes on to say that it sets a precedent (the old slippery slope wive's tale) that the Feds can tell a state government that they could not have square tables in their cafeterias, if the Feds forced them to buy round, and goes further to say that ban the purchase of any old plain jane table if it was made by a Christian company. I gave up after that.:eyes:
