Lighten up on Bush Supporters!!!!!
Edited on Mon Sep-20-04 08:12 PM by cidliz2004
At this stage it wouldn't be wise to come down too hard on the Bush supporters in that if they go to the booth on November 2 and vote for Bush out of SPITE or out of ANGER against what we the Kerry supporters might say to them, then we have lost.

Back off, give Bush supporters enough room to quietly back down from thier support of Bush. Allow them to not be angry (because of what we as individuals might say to them), allow them to maybe just maybe back away from Bush gracefully and quietly and don't PUSH them to vote for Bush out of anger or spite.

Maybe just maybe we will get more support when the debates commence.

5. No. They are traitors in their own right, as far as I'm concerned.
Besides, if we give them slack, they may start thinking that voting GOP is OK...and it damn sure is not Ok, not this time.

No, you are wrong.

We owe it to the idiots voting for Bush to point out, BEFORE the election, what the results of their stupidity is gonna be...that way, we get to laugh at the fools when the following predictions come true.

Their kids are going to be drafted, their variable rate mortgages are going to skyrocket, inflation and the price of gasoline will continue their climb. What else?

Oh yeah, their jobs are going to be outsourced, their 401K funds ripped off by further market crashes from further terrorist attacks, and they will die in abject poverty, because Bush is going to trash Social Security.

We really owe it to these Bush-voters to lay out for them exactly what the consequences of their actions are going to be.

I mean, obviously they cannot be very bright, or they would have figured it out for themselves!

make sure that you don't give any of the Bush supporters a CHANCE to SEE THE LIGHT!

Be like the Republicans and just spew hatred and cut your noses off to spite your face.

We are in the fight of our lifetime, so let us not be smart and use strategy to win, lets just use clubs and bash their brains out!

The tide may have begun to turn, what with some of the SENATORS actually speaking out against 43', but make sure that you all slam the door in anybody else's face - Heaven forbid we nurse that tide to continue and to bear us fruit!

Our neighbor, who couldn't tell me enough that she wasn't interested in voting for * four months ago, now has a "*/Cheney" sign prominently staked in her front yard.

There's no reasoning with them and there's no changing their minds. All we have left is to register voters in the next week and a half before the cutoff, and to volunteer to phone bank, doorbell, and do whatever you can in your community to GOTV.

We fight on. If we don't, we deserve what we get.

12. AHHHHHHHHHH ! Spite ? What ??!!
That's the only reason they are republicans in the first place.

It's not because of fiscal conservatism.
It's not because Bush is trying to shrink the government.
It's not because we found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and he saved us from Saddam.
It's not because they got a tax break, they went to the rich.
It's not because he's brilliant.
It's not because he got Bin Laden.
It's not because he's tough on crime, it's going up and he's cut the funding.
It's not because of no child left behind he cut that funding too.
It's not because he's doing anything about Social Security.
It's not because of medicare it went up
It's not because he is giving them all health insurance options
It's not because he's done anything for the environment but foul it
It's not because he isn't deficit spending
It's not because he cut the welfare roles, they are growing
It's not because of jobs, there are none

Jesus H Christ cut them some slack are you kidding ???

The only reason these rotten shitbags are voting for him is he's promoting their hate here and abroad.

These conservatives of today have one thing in common and one thing on their minds and that is hate and especially hate for us. Why the hell would we give thema break on anything.

Not for nothing but we've been entirely too nice already !!!!!!!

17. I Agree. Lighten Up On Bush Supporters
We Democrats are the minority party right now. We are in the same position as the Republicans were in 1942. And, as bleak as things might seem right now we, like the Republicans, can stage a come back. The only way to do this is to show Republican voters that it is in their best interests to change how they vote. We need to follow the old Christian maxim of "hate the sin but love the sinner". Attack the Bush with all of your passion but embrace his voters.

I can barely stand looking at them, I surely will not be embracing them. They are HATE/EVIL personified.

25. WHY would any THINKING person vote for him?
WHY would any THINKING person vote for him?

Because they are not thinking or were misinformed.

Yes, Bush is evil and voting for him furthers his evil but his voters can change their ways. However, they are not going to when we are shouting at them and insulting them. It is good to be passionate. Now we need to direct our passion toward a positive goal. We are never going to redeem 100% of the Bush voters but we do not need to. Changing the minds of 5% is all it would take to swing the election and send Doofus and company into retirement. My friends, please don't waste your energy being angry. Use it to go and make a convert.

42. Not evil. Just incredibly stupid, brainwashed, and self-absorbed...
...in a similar way to the majority of Germans who supported Hitler before and during WWII. As long as the bad things aren't happening to them, they can bury their heads in the sand and ignore all the bad and wax lyrical instead about the way they personally benefit from the actions of a rotten regime. And when all the bad stuff hits the fan in a big way, they can throw their hands in the air and announce that they hold no personal responsibility. After all, they just supported the evil, corrupt regime because no-one had the guts to point out to them that they were complete twats for falling for all the bullshit. Embrace them? What next? Maybe, just maybe, we should all say really nice things about Bush just in case it offends a conservative?

28. No, we are not
>We Democrats are the minority party right now.<

The country has been trending Democratic for several years now. The difference between us and them is the fact that THEY get their voters out on Election Day, by hook or by crook.

If we are the "minority party", how did Al Gore get half a million votes more than *?

If you want to win on Election Day, you'll do the following: Register your friends and neighbors to vote. Make sure they vote, even if you have to go and pick them up, especially if they're Democrats. Call your local Dem headquarters and volunteer a few hours of your time per week between now and Election Day. On Election Day, if you can afford to take the day off, DO IT. Drive voters to the polls. Phone bank those last few stragglers that can't seem to make it off the couch.

THEY want us to feel defeated and discouraged. It depresses turnout.

Get off your best intentions and get to work, folks.

Julie

and if you count the results from 2000, more people gave their votes to Gore and Nader-the Democratic Center and Left-than to Bush. Bush ran as a moderate in 2000. I wonder how many of his former independent voters will give him the shaft?

37. If they are Bush supporters, then to hell with them
They are sycophantic idiots who would rather listen to Republican lies than the truth. Any time you tell them a fact, you have to back it up with six forms of documenation that they deem as "credible sources" (usually only Drudge, NewsMax, and Faux News).

Only 1% of the country benifits from the Bush presidency, and even those people are willing to overlook the fact that he is fucking the nation and the environment.

So why does about half the country support him?

Who knows. But they sure are arrogant about their support of a man who honestly wouldn't give a shit if ten thousand Americans were killed in a terrorist attack tomorrow (unless they were billionares, of course). So, I think they deserve the shit we give them.

Besides, how bad we may treat them won't possibly be as bad as Bush and his cronies will be treating them once they get their theocratic dictatorship in place.
