DEAN HATES DEMOCRATS!!!!!!!!!! DEAN HATES DEMOCRATS!!!!!!!!!!
"We have made a fundamental miscalculation in Washington on how to beat this president,” said Dean. “We lost two senators and we almost lost a third one in this past election because their platform was ‘I voted with the president 85 percent of the time.’

<SNIP>
“Bill Clinton said about four months ago that the American people will always vote for someone who is strong and wrong before they will vote for someone who is weak and right.

“We appear to be weak and right because we will say whatever it takes to win. And once you are willing to say whatever it takes to win, you lose.”

5. Dean does speak the truth!
Dean urges Democrats to stand for something
April 2, 2003

By CHRISTOPHER GRAFF The Associated Press

NEW YORK — The Democratic Party is doomed to defeat in next year’s presidential election unless it clearly defines its differences with Republicans and is not afraid to trumpet them, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean said Tuesday.

:-)

But then Kerry, etc also speak truth....

Anyone but Bush!

No chance of expanded health care!
Invasion of Pakistan "a done deal"!
Economic crash to continue!
Priveleged class has no worries!

/sarcasm

Dean- $10Mil this quarter. Average donation= approx. $60.

10mil/ 60= 167,000 people. Have we all been duped? Is Dean a Rove puppet? Will any Dem candidate who is doing well get crushed by the pavlovian "fear of winning" crowd? Do we LIKE being on the outside, throwing "bombs" from the cheap seats?

Good luck to Kerry, Gephardt, Kucinich, Sharpton, Braun, Edwards, and Graham. And good luck to Clark too. I hope they hit their stride soon and show that they can kick Bush's ass. And congratulations in advance to any of them that becomes the front runner.

25. Howard Dean is a lying bastard
Sorry, but if Dean believes Max Cleland, Jean Carnahan and Jeanne Shaheen lost their Senate races because they failed to turn their races into a referendum on George Bush, he's even dumber than I thought he was. Either that or he's a lying bastard who has no qualms about dumping on his fellow Democrats to score a few cheap political points.

The fact is that Georgia, New Hampshire and Missouri aren't nearly as liberal and Democratic as Vermont is. And in 2002, Bush was far more popular than either of the candidates running for senate. Making the election about George Bush wouldn't have helped these people, not when Bush's approval ratings were in 70's.

33. Again, we're talking about Missouri, Georgia and New Hampshire
Dean seems to be saying that the Democratic candidates lost these races because they didn't spend their time attacking George Bush. Personally, I think Jeanne Shaheen knows a hell of a lot more about what it takes to get elected in the state of New Hampshire than Howard Dean does. She was elected governor twice. She is one of only four Democrats to have been elected governor of New Hampshire. And I really don't think Howard Dean is in a position to lecture Max Cleland about what it takes to win in Georgia. Ditto for Jean Carnahan in Missouri.

All three of these races would have been tough, competitive races even if Bush's popularity ratings were in the gutter. Now Dean either understands this and is simply lying to score some cheap political points, or his an igorant bastard.

57. Interesting point...
I interperet Dean's remarks that the entire Democratic party failed to work together as a coordinated opposition during the run-up to the election. So what the public saw was a bunch of people who didn't stand for anything.

...and that is a surefire way to loose an election.

31. Dean is speaking the truth here
Most people want to vote for an opposition candidate. Even Clinton did better when he stood up to the DLC. Gore did better when he acted like a populist. The nation is ready to vote for a populist.

A platform of ‘I voted with the president 85 percent of the time’ will make this election harder to win (although with the direction the polls are going regarding Captain Unelected and his re-elect numbers, it'll be hard to lose for whomever is the candidate).

For myself, I've got a new policy. I don't give a sh*t which candidate it's about, every flame-fest seeder gets a positive rebuttal from me. Even if I agree with the main point of the seeder, I'm making it my mission to keep it positive- i.e., whether I agree or not, that's the candidate's position and it's based on their sense of decency and justice. Not a damned thing wrong with that.
