Operation Mockingbird Alert@ C-Span/NBC'sJim Miklaszewski's Speech!

Any of you DU'ers who can please check out C-Span this afternoon at 4:13 (est) and watch this NBC Foreign Correspondent's speech on US Role in Global Politics. It's so frightening......I'm telling you he is a mouthpiece for Rumsfeld.....and he lays out the NEW EXCUSE for our invasion of Iraq...and Poppy's war. He makes the Rumsfeld case for war totally believable if you are a gullible unsuspecting person. And he is so cocky and confident as the "Pentagon's Spokesperson" spewing his lies that for the first time......I could see what "Operation Mockingbird" looks like in it's full flowering. It's not to be missed.......if you can't watch it check to see if C-Span has a radio broadcast......I'm not kidding this is what they are all about........!

2. My hubbie is home today and he exploded watching it....said it was the way

the Nazi's took over the military......just like Rumsfeld is doing with the Pentagon. Micklezewski lays it out in such a confindent manner that he looked like he could be Rummy's twin! This guy works for NBC and is giving the Pentagon's view as if it's his own! I've never seen anything like it......never. Most reporters are not like this when they speak to groups. This guy is part of the administration from the way he addresses this group of State Secretaries.

I really can't give a coherent synopsis of what he said because I'm still too upset....but hope a few DU'ers will watch and post.....it's too important.

8. BTW: He admits Rummy wanted to go into Iraq just after 9/11 happened he

talks about PNAC he talks about Poppy's war he talks about Bush I & II's policy as if they were NORMAL what America should have done during Clinton but didn't because the CIA and Joint Chiefs stopped Clinton from bombing Afghanistan.

He says Joint Chiefs and Pentagon didn't want to act on "Faulty Intelligence" so they stopped Clinton from bombing. He says Rumsfield has been tough and acted no matter whether the intelligence was "faulty" or not because it's been proven that one has to stand up and "act alone" if necessary to stop terrorism world wide!

That's only part of the Spin from the Pentagon he gave as justification for Bush's War! He was making a total case that Rumsfeld has acted magnificently in not listening to anyone but his own assessment of where America has to be in the New World Fight Against Terrorism. He made it sound like Rumsfeld is the REAL President.

This is why I'm so upset and couldn't post . My mind couldn't get it all to sink in.. I'm still having flashbacks of what all he said.....

9. C-Span has changed the screen! Now it's C-Span to at 10:00 tonight!

at 4:13.....but they are sometimes slow. I cut and pasted in my original post less than a half an hour ago....and now the C-Span site has totally changed and I can't find it listed............

Sometimes that happens. I will keep trying to find if they have an audio of it......but just turn it on.....and see if it comes on.....:shrug: I don't know if they just decided to "pull it" or they are updating their website.

10. I watched a portion of it earlier KoKo....

It made for some pretty scary viewing I have to say. Two very bad things are happening here. The first is that this guy is supposed to be a reporter, which means to report the facts not promnote an insane agenda. The second is he is trying to make that insane PNAC agenda appear perfectly reasonable and honorable. Very frightening! :scared:

isn't it wonderfully appropriate for Jim M. and that other MSNBC Pentagon guy ( the bloated redfaced gin-nose one) to do their reporting in front of a Pentagon logo, matching the look of Rumsfeld's briefings? 17. I saw part of it last night

and remember that Jim M. said that he was in the pentagon on 9 11, and he went into the hallway after the second plane hit WTC in NY then asked someone in the military if they had any leads. That person said to Jim "we're not sure but we think they are connected to AlQuaeda, and to stay out of the E-ring (furthest ring of the Pentagon) because we're next". Of course we all know what happened next.

If that doesn't scare you, what will. Some of the military knew the Pentagon was a target, yet they let it happen (LIHOP).

He was spinning and whoring so transparently it was, well, Orwellian.

Our little Comrade Squealer and he is almost certainly on someobody's payroll (or a Colmes-like milqetoast), if not Operation Mockingbird's itself.

At that time, with the Crusades comments and the "Infinite Justice" of Free-Market Jesus, whore Miklasewski was saying that the Pentagon creates these ops names out of whole cloth by feeding random words into the computer so it was just all a big fuckup.

This is probably true for the dozens of minor ops that go on within the larger sweeping op. Daily ops that last a weeks or so. But for the big ops, the overall names, does anyone think that in '91 "Desert Shield" and "Desert Storm" popped out at random? Operation Anaconda? Puh-leeze! So the smaller lie serves to wallpaper up the gaffe and is accepted no boubt by the vast majority of people who's critical thinking machinery is rusted and atrophied.
