I believe he has rights under the Geneva accords. Jacinto, I do not excuse the Bush Admin from following them. I ahve the right to ask , without being accused of being unpatriotic which is what i was vrtually accused of.Jacinto honey, your'e in the wrong party for that.

10. Wait a second
I didn't question your patriotism. I never did. That was not my intention.

But it really gets me angry when I see people talking about the rights of people at Camp X-ray.

I am more concerned about the victims of 9/11 than the people who tried to harm them.

17. That's not point
It's like some people are more worried about criminals than the people they harm. It's as if someone gets attacked on the street and some people are more concerned about helping the one who committed the crime than the victim?

35. You miss the point of our justice system and constitution
I'm concerned about people who have been accused, and are currently incarcerated, without their guilt being proven or even questioned.

If we punish innocent people, then we insult the victims of 9/11, imho.

39. we're worried about both....
We must be sure that our country and our leaders are humane because they are acting in our behalf. These prisoners are in a very powerless postion now - at our mercy and we must see to it that they are are treated right. If no-one were to look after the powerless - where would this world be?

Are we to say that our nation can do whatever it wishes???

37. You said:
It never (ceases to) amaze how some people here sympathize with terrorists who hate this country - parentheses are my cleanup of your sentence

To me, that's equals you saying mitch sympathizes with terrorists who hate our country, and thus, you're accusing mitch of giving aid and comfort (sympathy) to enemies of the U.S, or in effect, treason.

How do you interpret it? Or would you like to backpedal a little further?

If you believe that any of them are innocent you should damn well be concerned with their rights.

If you believe they are all guilty than your reckless disregard for human rights makes more sense. :eyes:

25. Never amazes or never CEASES to amaze, Carlos?
It never ceases to amaze me that there are fuckheads, even Democratic fuckheads, who do everything in their power to enable George W. Bush, who is trying to destroy my country because he hates it.

I resent what George W Bush is doing to the country and the constitution that I love. And by extension, I have no use for his enablers who want to help speed along the restrictions of the rights we used to enjoy in this country.

Tell me their crime if you please. How were they found guilty and exactly what were they charged with? You are quite eager to label them terrorists but I would like to know on what you base your indictment. It amazes me how some people here don't give a damn about Americans and their constitutional rights so must hate this country.

41. Victims of terrorism are my first concern
The terrorists are second.

But it's like someone getting mugged on the street. There is a victim hurt and in pain. Instead of trying to assist the victim people here run to the attacker and ask how they can help him. That's how I see it.

9. Whatever happened to...
...that punk that was going around putting bombs in mailboxes around the country hoping that when the bombings were pinpointed on a map, they would form a smiley face? Remember him? The last time I saw anything about him was on the day he was captured and there was a picture of him being led away in handcuffs by some law enforcement official who was actually SMILING at this asshole. The asshole was smiling back too as if they'd just shared a good joke. Any news on that guy?

Then is something you do not need to know. Now look downard and forward, and keep in step citizen! The enonomy is deflated because people like you waste time asking questions. Remember, thinking is bad, productivity is good! You can always work harder!

Jose Padilla is a name I will not forget, and I will not let those close to me forget it either. He is my answer for all idiots who say "that can't happen in America". I bring up his name and state, American citizen, snatched up without charges, held for over a year without charges, denied access to his lawyer, his family was eventually told of his whereabouts. Can't happen in America my ass.
