Size, scope of work greater than previously disclosed

Aug. 28 — Halliburton, the company formerly headed by Vice President Cheney, has won contracts worth more than $1.7 billion out of Operation Iraqi Freedom and stands to make hundreds of millions more dollars under a no-bid contract awarded by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, according to newly available documents

I was listening to a moderate radio personality in Denver, and he said "all politicians help out those who contribute to them. Halliburton gave Bush lots of $$$ to get him elected, and now he's helping them out and repaying them. Isn't this the same thing Clinton and every other president before him has done? What's the response to this?"

Believe me, I'm not trying to start a flame war here. That was what the host said, and I realize that politicians tend to help out those who help them. I can't think of things like this that Clinton did, (I was in elementary school during his presidency), but it just made me think.
