outside of safeway....

i had to pass on something from this weekend...i was standing outside of Safeway doing some charity work and a taxi pulls up to drop someone off.

A very old lady gets out, all stooped over and seemingly having some trouble...the driver helps her out and she stands up....underneath her light jacket is a pale yellow shirt with Kerry/Edwards written on it....

As she approches the door, i say to her "Love the shirt!"

She looks at me and says "I like to wear it because it pisses the idiots off!"

"Well it ought to do that." says I.

Then she says in voice that anyone can hear for 50 feet "I don't understand how stupid half the american public can be to believe anything our dim-witted, murdering president says."

"I have to agree.", say I.

"How many more debates do they need?"

"I don't know...enjoy your shopping"

"Don't forget to vote!"

She was real firecracker, and gave me a smile for the rest of the day...thought you might enjoy the info...

1. I hear similar things from many elderly people here in WI.

At our church, we have a Senior Meal Site, and the ladies LOVE it that I'm a liberal! Most of these people are non-members, and they share their views with many throughout our small town.

Today, after church, some folks in my congregation helped me load up stuff in my car. As I opened the trunk, I asked if anyone wanted a Kerry yard sign. Guess what? They're all gone!

I'll be stopping by Dem HQ this week to stock up, and get some bumperstickers, too.

I love it! But...she must not know the CEO of Safeway's is a huge * supporter. I quit shopping at Safeway when I found out.

I have an aunt who's in her eighties. She's sharp as a tack and willing to speak her mind. Despises Bush and this arrogant, warring administration.
