Did you notice in closing... John Edwards Thanked the V.P... but
When cheney closed he only thanked the monitor... and didn't even acknowledge Edwards. cheney is a creep... he reminds me of Gollum.

7. Agreed. My first thought
was that John looked strong by getting up easily while Dick had to wait to haul himself up after the handshake. Also, John got a good visual in by standing over him for the shake. It made Cheney look weak. Best of all, I don't think John had to plan it or try to stage it. It just happened that way.

8. Edwards and Cheney did shake hands...
It was a little later...on CBS they were talking over as people were milling around, and they shook and seemed to have a chat stage right.

Frightening to say this, but bad as Cheney is he at least can speak off the cuff and string sentences together. Edwards held his own, and there was the delicious moment the first time the H-word was mentioned where Cheney looked as though he might stroke for a second.

Cheney also wasn't served by the sit-down format. He kept covering his microphone when he did his defensive arms posture and Dr. Evil hand twiddling. He also had this weird sort of movement where he'd make his hands into claws, as if he were imitating a squirrel, or miming grabbing breasts.

I'd call it slightly for Edwards. He was much more pleasant to listen to, and I'm sure his charisma and looks scored him some points. Nice to know he's on the ball, and I like the fact he has young children so he'll be in tune with young families as VP.

9. Noticed that, too.
That actually got a big laugh at our at our apartment. Cheney takes small gestures of kindness into little consideration, but it comes off as quite an indicator of his arrogance. Don't put it past the American people to pick up on those little tell-tale signs.

11. Everyone at my debate watching party noticed that immediately
The women, in particular.

It demonstared to me Cheney knew he lost. Just take a look at the tape of his 2000 debate with Lieberman, when Cheney could not have been more sincere in thanking Lieberman for showing up to take his whipping.

12. Yep, noticed that too..
and there are a few ways to view it:

1) Cheney knew Edwards kicked his butt, and was too angry to acknowledge Edwards.

2) Cheney is a lowlife.

3) All of the above.
