Has anyone told him?

Have they considered that it might be a political liability?

You'd think they'd at least address the issue and say they were "concerned" or some kind of bullshit publicly.

Have I missed something?

I remember an old Mayor of Denver who was voted out of office because there was a huge blizzard and he couldn't get the snow off the streets fast enough. The voters said "screw this guy!"

The government COULD reduce the price by releasing some of the strategic oil reserve (or whatever it's called). Has anyone brought this up? Hello our friendly media?

To me, this might be like Poppy Bush in the checkout line, not knowing the price of milk. Could be the thing out of left field that bites him on the ass.

1. You would think that they would have
something to say about this. Gas stations on the NJ Turnpike are rasing their prices 19 cents today. I must be an idiot or I missed it, but what is the reason for the rise? Is it a shortage or are they just seeing what the market will bear? Look at all the things that have gone on while president plastic doll has been on vacation.

3. The reason?
Probably due to the Labor Day weekend . . . but these increases just seemed to happen overnight.

The cheapest in town here was $2.09!

4. But I just heard Thursday on National Petroleum Radio (NPR)
that, in fact, it's just our perceptions that gas prices have skyrocketed over previous Labor Days. According to their statistics, published by some energy research institute (I think), gas prices actually DECLINE over Labor Day. :wtf:

Oh, 'scuse me. Guess I'm stupid, 'cause I just perceived that $1.75/gal was more than the $1.45 I paid 2 weeks ago. Silly me.

2. He knows, it's campaign time.
Just another cooked up crisis just as in the 2000 election which without it, Gore would have won in a landslide.

In 2000, it was the same excuse, a refinery was shut or geopolitical forces determined the crisis even as Clinton had an agreement from OPEC of all people to hold the price of a barrel at about $25.

Bush raised $110 milion in 2000 with most of the money coming from the oil and energy sectors. The goal this time is $200 million.

Coincidence? I think not.

5. I'm sure he fills his Hummer with unleaded every day,
just like the rest of us. So he has some idea of what gas prices are like. Whether or not he thinks it's important is another issue.
