I pissed off Republicans yesterday

I'm working a Dean For America booth at the local fair, and my daughter and I were walking through the pavillion after my shift. She's almost 5, and she ran upto the Repuke booth, when she saw a George Bush bank.

She asked me what it was, and I said "It's a bank shaped like Bush. You put your money in it, and when you go back later to get it, it's not there anymore."

If looks could kill........

My wife thinks I should have said "When you go back to get your money, it's been transferred to a rich person's bank."

I was recently wandering about the Arlington County (Va) fair looking for my spousal unit. I was in a foul mood. Whilst walking past the Republican booth I was approached by an empty headed matron bearing campaign literature. Her smile faded to utter shock when I told her (and I quote) "I would no more vote for a Republican than I would shove a living snake up my ass"


The look on her face will be something I cherish for quite a long time :)

9. I went to the grocery store yesterday,

and there was a guy outside gathering signatures so he can appear on the ballot as a commissioner. He asked me first if I was a registered voter, then he asked me if I would sign it. I asked him if he was a Democrat or Repuke. He said Democrat, so I signed. If he said Repuke, I was going to tell him, Hell no! Crawl back under your rock! Rude, yes, but I just finished watching Crossfire with bow-tie twit Tucker Carlson and I was fuming.

23. another fair story

Was at the state fair last night! Happened upon the GOP booth, where a smooth big hair young woman was showing her teeth and promoting George. My niece was wearing a Dean button. I had such a visceral reaction to this Repug. So smug. I wanted her to see, to understand the evil she is fronting. I forced myself to simply ask her where the Democrats' booth was located. There was real unease in her eyes, like she lost her groove.

The guy in the booth next over looked at me, shrugged, and said "God bless America" in a sad way.

I think I'm going back. I want to get in a conversation with one of them.
