I had to see it to believe it
I heard about this, but didn't think anyone could be stupid enough to actually make/buy this.

A miniature replica of U.S. President George W. Bush (news - web sites) attired in a naval aviator flight uniform, depicting what he wore when he landed on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to declare an end to major combat in Iraq (news - web sites), is displayed in Hong Kong August 29, 2003. A Hong Kong toy company has shipped about 35,000 pieces of the one-to-six scale dolls to the U.S. and other countries.

3. And its made in Hong Kong
Gotta love that.

And here I thought maybe I was being too extreme when I said that Bush wanted to use real people and weapons to play GI Joe.
But this proves it.

Some of the scariest people on the plantet will have this little gem in their stockings Christmas morning.

Shouldn't this thing come with a kilo of cocaine, a bottle of Jack Daniels, and millions of dollars (that he stole from investors while with Harkin)?

go to the toy store and write the number of dead American soldiers on the box. That would be bad. Don't do that. You shouldn't write "AWOL" either. Or "bush lied, people died". Yep. Bad idea.

edit: whistle-ass should be included on this list.

13. Note the way it's morphed
I knew it was going to happen as soon as Lil George pulled his Flop Gun Photo Op: "Depicting what he wore when he landed on the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln." Although the language is ambiguous, the intended meaning is clear, that it was Lil George who brought the aircraft in for its landing. No mention that there was anyone else in the plane and that Lil George was cargo.

Fortunately, this little escapade is assuming its proper place in the public imagination, and it's turning into the embarrassment it rightfully should be for Commander AWOL Bunnypants.

24. I may have to buy one of those...
...just so I can stick pins in it, fry selected parts with a focused beam of sunlight through a magnifying glass, run over it repeatedly with the lawnmower, pop its head off and smack it out into left field with a baseball bat, dig the cat turds out of the litter box with it, etc.

Then I could package it up and send it back to the manufacturer, claiming the thing was defective--just like the actual GWB.

25. My Siames brought down Newt...I might just buy this.....see if they can
work their same magic on Chimpy. Liberal cat store sold small stuffed replica's of Newtie when he was at the height of his power in the Senate. It was filled with catnip. My cats ususally don't go for any stuffed toys and aren't so fond of catnip. They both took a liking to it....One of them would sit and lick it constantly. It was their favorite toy..... a few months later Mr. Newtie started his "decline" and eventual downfall. It was a coincidence I imagine.....but sometimes, I wonder.....

I would hate to spend any money on the awful thing.....but it could also end up being a big collectors item worth $$'s some day.......if the Chimp is impeached or thrown out of office and goes down in memory as the disaster we think he is. Buying it would be the total greedy capitalist thing to do to. And, maybe someday make the money back the Chimp has stolen from us....

43. BBC amends their story (slightly)
When the BBC web site reported on the Bush action figure controversy they mentioned that Shrub had not actually seen any combat while he had served as a pilot in the Texas Air National Guard.

I fired off the following email to them:

Dear BBC,

In reporting on the "Bush doll has waiting list" story your reporter was apparantly under the delusion that Mr. Bush served in the Air National Guard as a pilot for the duration of his term of service.

The BBC report states:

"Mr Bush never saw combat during the Vietnam war, because he remained in the US as a pilot with the national guard."

However records indicate that Mr. Bush actually was grounded after failing to appear for a compulsory medical exam (which just happened to include a drug test) and then for a year and a half failed to show up for alternative ground based duties as required.

It should be noted that for the less privelidged members of society, this type of behavior usually meant a (quite possibly) one-way ticket to the jungles and swamps of Vietnam to complete their national service obligations as an infantry grunt, a fate which G W Bush appears to have avoided by some unexplained circumstance. I would encourage you to review the documentation and articles at www.awolbush.com .

Regards
xxxx

I got the following response today from the BBC:

Thank you for your email. We have made further enquiries into this story and have amended the detail. Thank you for your interest in the BBC News website.

When I checked the BBC story they had removed the part about Shrub being a pilot. However there was still nothing on going AWOL or avoiding medical exams.

Mr Bush never saw combat during the Vietnam war, because he remained in the US with the national guard.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/3184709.stm

No doubt the BBC is picking its battles these days what with the ongoing Kelly inquiry and are somewhat shy about stirring up any more controversy at this point in time. Neveretheless, it's one more chink in Dubya's armor and even if it doesn't make the web site right away, the reporters and secretaries at the BBC will likely be discussing this matter over a cuppa in the BBC cafeteria. I am sure they probably got tons of email, besides mine, on Shrubs distinguished military career. So the word continues to spread.

That's right, you don't see any difference. The doll's eyes are just as vacant as the real eyes.

Christ, this man even looks stupid in doll form. In the Barbie pantheon, this guy would be Ken's "slow friend", because he partied too hard in college.

Hey, just in case Clark gets the nomination and wins the White House, DU should make a Clark tanker doll. Then we could have a Clark doll drive his tank over "aviator" Dipshit*.

The caveat being that Clark can actually drive a tank.
