HEY! Where's my tax rebate check?
I keep hearing how Bush has made my day by giving me a $400 tax rebate check. Well, I have gas bills, electricity bills, medical bills and tuition bills, but no check for me, oh no!

What happened to it? Lost in the mail? Embezzled by former Enron top managers? Eaten by ravenous hogs at the pResidential pig farm?

I gots to know!

Where is my check!

6. only the wealthy or people with kids got a tax rebate
Seriously. The tax cuts are not on "payroll tax" which is what us regular schmoes pay.

That is why the Democrats in Congress were bitching. They were trying to get a payroll tax rebate for the middle class. No-one paid much attention to it except the fat cats who knew they stood to get some great big fat checks.

http://www.eagletribune.com/news/stories/20030529/BU_001.htm
"The tax cut, the third-largest in dollar terms ever, lowers taxes on corporate dividends and investment gains. The checks, will advance parents $400 per child, or the difference between the 2002 and 2003 credit amounts.

http://www.wsws.org/articles/2003/jan2003/tax-j15.shtml
"Microsoft billionaire Bill Gates, the richest man in the world, stands to net $50 million in one year from a single provision of the tax-cutting plan unveiled by President Bush last week. Vice President Cheney will benefit to the tune of over $327,000, while Bush himself will gain $44,500. But working people will receive little or nothing from the administration’s proposal."

http://www.bsudailynews.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2003/06/02/3edbe2c82ecbf
"The Senate tried to correct this bias somewhat; their version of the tax cut set aside $3.5 billion -- 1 percent of the total tax cut -- to give rebates to 12 million low-income families with children. This proposal was removed from the final bill approved by both houses; apparently, the poor must get nothing so the rich can get 1 percent more."

What we will get is a bunch of cuts in services....

10. sorry - mistook you for a moron....
....didn't read your post very carefully.

You know a lot of people will be asking that question though. If you heard Bush all he did is talk about how the "middle class" and "Hard-working Americuns" are getting this tax cut. When will all these people who have been sleeping - begin to start "squealing" about this? Or - as usual will this simply go away and be forgotten.....

13. You should at least benefit from
the creation of the 10 % bracket a couple of years ago, and expanding it this year, even if you don't make enough to benefit from the cutting of the 28 % to 25 % bands, or even if you don't have any kids.

4. The $400
if I recall correctly, is only for families with children who qualify.
About 20% of taxpayers qualify and will get some dough. The other 80% get nothing. If you examine your paycheck with a magnifying glass you may find an extra $3 in there.
