While a 9-point spread doesn't indicate to me that my bright-red home state of Georgia is in play, I do find this VERY interesting. I'm actually seeing more Kerry signs than I have in a LONG while, and I live in one of the most conservative counties in America, Cobb. (Cobb County's twin gifts to the US Congress: Bob Barr and Newt Gingrich). Perhaps it won't be as bad of a blowout here as I originally suspected.
Also, don't underestimate the influence of the Libertarian candidate on the state of Georgia. Neal Boortz is a very outspoken Libertarian, and has an awful lot of influence here. Harry Browne got a bigger percentage of the popular vote in Georgia in 2000 than he did in any other state, something I credit Boortz for. Whether those votes were being siphoned from * or Gore, I'm not certain, but I suspect it was about 2-1 from Bush. I would expect that Badnarik is going to do as well here as Browne did in 2000, if not a bit better.
