Alcohol is a WMD
The U.S. wiped out most Indians with alcohol, and with the slaughter of the buffalo, that landed those
pagan salvage heathens on those awful reservations for the last hundred years. The U.S. in those days couldn't use the Indian for slaves, so we enslaved the Nergo from Africa to help build this country along with the Chinese. Of course the U.S. kept the black slave and the chinese slave was shipped back to China. Why? (something worth to looking into)

The Indians also had WMD. Tobacco. Who won? The Indians have the glambling joints and the pale face has the
fast food joints.....and the blacks have rhythm with deep spiritual beliefs of survival ....and the Chinese have perseverance. So who's got it right?

The white, the red, the black, the yellow? In my opinion everyone except the white.

And I'm a pale face.

2. Other WMD: tobacco, automobiles, and cotton.
With cotton it was the production method not the substance that was the WMD.

6. yeah but TOBACCO wins hands down. Even more than war.
Millions dead per yer for decades and climbing. This really illustrates the cognitive dissonance between what is economically acceptable and that which is merely political.

7. I have wondered about Budweiser and others...
Edited on Sat Aug-30-03 02:16 PM by Dob Bole
why Clinton went after Tobacco companies and not Alcohol companies. I'm not talking prohibition or anything, but should there be a limit or something? For example, last night I saw a Philip Morris sign that was like "24 can suitcase of beer--4.99----Drink Responsibly" Yeah right. If we can sue tobacco companies for cancer Medicaid costs, then why not drunk driving accidents and liver problems? If you're going to sell someone a 24-can suitcase of beer, they're not going to know if they're driving or not when they're finished.

On Edit: Ditto on the families thing. We should be able to sue for foster care costs as well.

9. There are some differences
which are very important. One is that alcohol is actually benefitial when used in moderation. While that is something I can't do many others can. Two alcohol companies didn't conspire to make their product more addictive and to keep legitimate safety issues from the public.

10. Dont you see that this sue Happy thing is f@cked up
Lets sue everyone for everything. There isnt anything we do that isnt hazarous to us now. OHHH YEAHHH we can collect money for social programs...seems that money never reaches its intended place. It stops somewhere in the transaction and ends up in a polititions pocket. They brought in casino gambling to MO. like 10 years ago(all money to go to education). KC, MO. public schools are now the worst in the country and are on probation. I think I will be flamed or banned but I dont give a f@ck. You cant make people who do things that are hazardous(in your thinking) pay the whole bill.

If I buy a horse and ride it to work everyday. Guess I can sue you for using a car? Do any of you use Hair spray? Another law suit. Oh Yeah!!! you are on the internet just for pleasure. That is sucking away energy. Cell phones are wasting away our airways(I know its BS but so are many of the other suits filed).

Do we now charge medicaid with cell-phone accidents? Doctors for not saving the life of a suicide jumper (failed) onto the tracks of a subway car.

We have become a society that is sue happy. Guess its the way to get rich quick. I dont buy it and I think maybe puter users and cell phone users should be penalized and taxed same as alchohol and smokers. And all the money should be kept from the government.

It is not used as they promised here =(

11. There is a difference...
between a person suing because their coffee is too hot and a state suing because a company's misrepresentation of a product has burdened them with undue health care costs.
