Any person who votes for Bush, I accuse of intellectual laziness

I have yet to hear one argument in Bush's favor this election that is based on any provable fact.

My mostly Republican office is a collection of GOP voters of habit, fear, and peer-pressure. They all are voting for Bush because "...he feels right." and "He maybe a screw up but I want the screw up I know" and "Kerry is a dingle-berry, so I vote for Bush" and "Kerry won't do a good job"

"Prove it." I say. Give me something more than "a gut feeling" nonsense. And they accuse us liberals as being too "touchy-feely"?

Every last one has not been able to provide a good reason to vote for Bush (or any other Republican for that matter) Not one Republican, independent, or Libertarian, that I've met whose voting for Bush, has explained why Bush's foreign policies are best (and many are re-writing history and saying Viet Nam is a good example of preemptive war!) None of them can explain to me why Bush's tax policies are better than Kerry's, except to mumble something about "Reagan is a great man" as a non sequitur. None of them can explain to me why Bush's domestic policies are better than Kerry's, in fact they avoid the issue of America's infrastructure as a matter of philosophical unimportance.

And so, since I can't get one good reason (that is a non-faith based reason) to vote for Bush, I'm accusing all who vote for him with intellectual laziness!

Wanting to be taken care of, like a child. The desire to be led around and told how to think. Life is hard, but we have to face reality or it is even harder. 9. Our culture has a history of reality avoidance

I believe it has to do with the whole "westware ho!" aspect of our culture. The idea that when the going gets bad, pull up stakes and avoid the bad stuff. We've been doing it for generations.

7. the ones I know don't seem to be scared

So maybe they don't know what fear really is or they hide it well.

They sit on, I'm not kidding, $1,000 chairs and live in super white, super clean, super safe suburbs. They take the train every day into the city and never really get to see the neighborhoods they they plow through every day. They have no idea how people, other than themselves, live and think the whole South Side (Chicago) is "a dirty place"

These people I see and work with every day, just don't think about things around them. There's a guy here @ work who honestly doesn't know how to get more staples when his Swingline runs out of stables. He just waits until someone else fills up the drawer with extra office supplies.

In short, they are too stupid (intellectually lazy) to be scared.

It maybe be different where you are, but in, to use Whoppi Goldberg's term, 'old white raisin' land there is no fear.

A vote for Bush is a vote to continue to lead our country by a bunch of evil bullies. We've become a bully nation with a nasty mean streak. Some of the women I know are voting for bush because they have the "I've got mine screw you" mentality. Their hubbies make good money and have good benefits, they believe if you didn't marry well or weren't smart enough to be born into money then it's your own damn fault and you deserve to suffer.

All of the Bush voters that I know are also selfish pricks who believe that the world should be "fair" to them until "they get what's 'mine'" mentality. But once they "get their's" then its time to call off all the other shots. "Affirmative action? I got my college degree, so fuck Affirmative action," for example.

Take, take, take, gimmie, gimmie, gimmie, mine, mine, mine. They are like 3-year-olds on an outing to the zoo with Grandma and Grandpa.

And when they don't get what they want, or someone questions what they have they throw a temper tantrum. But with adults do it, its called "war."

There are lots of child-like adults (spoiled brats) in this country. I taught high school for a short period of time. I remember finding many behavioral similarities between the 14-18 year olds and my then one year old son. It's like some people never grew out of the terrible two's phase.

4. Here's the reason a friend of mine gave me:

"...if W's as connected with big money as he is, I'd rather stay on that money train." So my friend, via absentee ballot (going to be out of town election day) voted for W to stay on the "money train". Hard to know how to counter that, I guess. If one is convinced one's going to get very rich thanks to W, and getting rich is the American dream...

I just hope it works for my friend. For me, I can only anticipate the dire financial straits our country's headed for because of W's policies, his endless wars, and my own personal economic demise if he's "elected". My friend is still my friend, of course, but I confess my regard for that person has diminished. Bush--he sure is a uniter!

Let's defeat him. Please!
