Anyone know who owns Google?

I mean as far as more shares held? Didn't it just go public? Wouldn't the most widely search engine be important to anyone who wanted to control information? If you can't find the data then it doesn't exist. It's the new and improved form of "Removed from Circulation" or "Book Burning"

I think they chose to hold 51% of the stock themselves so nobody could come in and tell them how to run Google. Basically, the financial pundits thought this was stupid and a bad move; the tech pundits thought it was pretty smart. This way, they aren't tied to stockholder insistence on profits. The shareholder stocks they sold are diluted, as well -- their shares mean more to decision-making than the sold stocks.
