Poll question: Buzzflash or Drudge?
If you could only get your headlines from one website (let's pretend DU doesn't exist for the sake of this poll) which would you choose? Feel free to elaborate why if you want. I prefer buzzflash, both for their choices of stories to link to and their editorials, generally leaning left and being less freeperish in tone and content. I've noticed an increase in mentions of Drudge on DU lately, though, and was wondering how other DUers feel about the two.

1. Buzzflash
Absolutely no contest. I won't even click on a Drudge link if it's posted here; I remember reading that he makes money for each hit his site gets.

Buzzflash is timely, has a much wider assortment of headlines, & I enjoy the editorializing they include in the headlines. Plus they have great commentary.

2. Buzzflash, no doubt
I don't give Drudge very much credibility. He may seem friendly to our side sometimes (like with the Arnold story), but he's an opportunist plain and simple.

3. don't get me wrong
i LOVE LOVE LOVE my buzzflash, nothing else out there like it, but i do wish they'd work on becoming more "breaking news" like they purport to be... i mean, if i truly wanna get the absolute latest news, drudge usually has it... i mean yeh, he's a right wing punk, but he's got his shit together as far as beating out competition for the stories... if buzzflash gets better at this, then watch out! because content-wise, there's no competition... it's buzzflash all the way...

5. Exactly, newsguyatl
That's why I check Drudge regularly.

I usually grind my teeth while doing it, but I do it anyway. He keeps up with the news, and he changes his page frequently.

6. Drudge can lick me
His site BLOWS. This is not a matter of opinion. This is not conjecture. I can prove this with Chinese arithmatic.

9. Drudge is fast on the trigger..and he will
Put up stories that go both ways. I found out proof tonight that I wont (WILL NOT) report here, that truthout.com lies. I think all of the so called other news sites do nothing but try to bend the minds of others. They, on both sides, do whatever they can to decieve. I now put NO TRUST into these sites and see that it isnt just the reps that lie. I am now back to looking at network news cause I have evidence that lies are told on dem, lib, socialist sites on the web. If asked I will show it on an individual basis but Please dont ask.

I only hope you all take truth for what it is. It isnt always what you are told on these progressive sites. There is a truth in the middle that is the truth and maybe time should be spent to listen. I am not out to be hateful or disagree but, I found a huge lie on truthout and it really hurt my feelings.

Ok now you can shoot me out.

11. I would show you, but it would be bad for US
Total lie, and I even got a e-mail saying it was. But I dont think it is right to show it. It is a lie without excuse. hint: it is written before the fact and predicts no one will know. That is not how the press works. They are there to report things that are happening or have happened. It wasnt a death report or any thing like that. It was writing an address with a group and its reaction before it happpened. Breakfast with this group was reported as being a done deal speach in its entirety. On september 1st for breakfast. I caught this when it was still august 31 and bedtime.

I dont ask for truth serum. I ask for truth from these progressive sites that dont report truth. I am with you but I dont want truth to be only the truth I want. It isnt truth when someone writes a story that hasent even happened yet.

but it's a little to sensational to be considered "news" to me. i follow the links, but they just seem to be a little too reactionary about many things..

15. WilliamPitt and khephra write and work, respectfully, for Truthout
Send a PM to either one of them or send an e-mail to Truthout's feedback. Tell them about this. I doubt they lied as that's not the style of the folks at Truthout. They could have easily made a mistake, though, and I'm sure that they'd want to be alerted to this if there was a mistake made.

19. I was unable to edit my post
but I wanted to include a link to Cursor, a great site that has the top stories with a leaning to the liberal point of view, although it doesn't have independent commentary, it picks the stories which are usually very interesting.
