It was never hard for me to go out and vote. Hell, I even voted absentee the year I had my foot operated on and was confined to a recliner for 3 months.
If all of us actually went out and voted, this election wouldn't have even been close. There's just no excuse for this. I guess it'll take a draft to get young voters to the polls.

Fewer than one in 10 voters Tuesday were 18 to 24, about the same proportion of the electorate as in 2000, exit polls indicated. Still, with voter turnout expected to be higher overall, more young people appeared to have come out.

The youth vote moved four points towards Kerry in comparision to Gore( with much increased turnout), the gender gap narrowed, the education gap narrowed and the over 60 crowd moved four points towards Bush in comparision to 2000.

I think this is part of the bullshit they're pulling because I have been overwhelmed by rap-get-out-the-vote campaigns and don't think these numbers reflect that. So I think they're cheating....


But I will say in general, as part of this age-group - they WANT US TO BE APATHETIC - just look at the top bullshit plastic cardboard icons. Brittney, The Jessica-and-her-Sister-assheads, The SOUTH PARK creators (yes, I said it: they DO have a political message and that message is APATHY if not outright status-quo)...then you get to the crapola-not-even-a-message-having-but-time-and-money-and-space-wasters like bullshit reality shows, crank yankers and any other piece of nonsense that you (and I!) call "guilty pleasures" but waste our time and money on instead of doing something REAL and meaningful for the world.

We help keep that meaningless pop-culture bullshit alive (even when there is alternative meaningFUL pop culture shit available) and then wonder why those with less IQs but more entertainment-exposure don't give a shit or go the dumbass-britney-way.

I simply can't believe it, because it doesn't make any sense with the strong GOTV efforts and the importance of this election to our age group. I refuse to believe the exit polls until I see more evidence.
