I'm tired of everybody assuming all Californians are into group orgies
All the Pukes, all the pundits, they all say Ahh-nuld's Oui interview doesn't matter because, hey, IT'S CALIFORNIA! As if Californians will vote for Ahh-nuld BECAUSE he did the group sex thing and smoked pot.

I'm not from California. I am a fairly liberal Democrat. But you know what, character DOES matter. The fact that Ahh-nuld had group sex when he was 29 (not exactly a "youthful indiscretion"!) is not quite as important as the fact that he doesn't regard WOMEN as equals but as toys to be groped. That matters to me, and I think it matters to Californians. I refuse to believe that everyone in California is into free sex and using and abusing half the population of the state and/or the world. Ahh-nuld is a USER (what Puke isn't???).

I don't care what anyone does behind closed doors. I refuse to condemn anyone because of his/her sexual orientation or because of what consenting adults do behind closed doors. But when it becomes borderline abusive -- witness Linda Hamilton's comments about the set of Terminator I and II -- then I think it matters. Ahh-nuld not only admits it, he CELEBRATES it and makes no bones about it (no pun intended).

And I think that matters. There are millions of people in California, and I don't think they're a whole lot different from me. I believe in equal rights for all people. And you know what? I believe in honest-to-goodness "family values" like families being able to work, eat, and prosper. I don't think I'm all that different from people in California or any other state in this nation.

The hypocrisy of the Pukes just makes me retch. If it's a Dem, it's SEX SEX SEX and you're going to hell!!! If it's Ahh-nuld, it's "nobody cares because it's California." I suspect this is going to bite the Pukes on the ass BIG TIME.

Comments, anyone?

2. Possible moderate defection?
I think if they are not careful that this type of teflon morality will catch up to them sooner than later. Unlike when you had all their righteous Republican Viagra poster boys rabidly foaming at the mouth over this vile indiscretion of President Clinton's, now the moralizing isn't quite so easy. To make excuses for Arnold's quite more risque behavior while still demonizing Clinton is far more about naked political power than about being naked.

I think we have to hope that this will alienate many moderates from Arnold. It will definitely firm up the conservative voting block because hypocrisy is manna from their Great Leader's heaven for them. Clinton=bad, any Republican=good, no matter what.

3. That's for sure!
And what amazes and infuriates me is that no one in the media seems to understand the connection between the free pass Ahh-nold is getting and the vilification and persecution of Clinton for far less of a "sexual indiscretion." Why is it that the repukes can get away with anything in that respect, while still being able to vilify and persecute Dems for any of their sexual activities?

9. I'm quite open-minded
as most liberals are. However, THERE'S NO WAY THAT IF THIS WAS ANYONE BUT A REPUBLICAN IT WOULD BE ON THE NEWS 24/7 AND HE WOULD BE EQUATED TO THE ANTI-CHRIST. It makes me so crazy, I can't even think about it. WE MUST VOTE NO ON THE RECALL WITH BUSTAMONTE AS A BACKUP. I just don't know what else to do. If we loose California to the Democrats, I will need to go on additional medication as I plan my move to Vancouver :-(

7. I don't have a problem with consentual group sex
(though I'm not into it myself!) but the groping women, and his attitude towards women really bothers me. Can you imagine what the republicans would be saying if this guy was a dem? That type of hypocracy bothers me the most.

8. I'm a Californian and I take exception to the fact that
we are supposed to be immoral. I really get tired of it. Margaret Carlson made a remark about Arnold's sexual escapades last Saturday, that it wouldn't matter much to "crazy" Californians. Well, it does matter to this Californian, especially the assaults on women, who are victims of a crime if that doesn't sink through people's heads, it should.

Oh, and we aren't crazy. The crazy people come from other states and end up here because they can't go any further west.

10. It's beyond his "personal life"
It is about the way he treats women, then and now.
I really resent people saying it's just about his personal
life and we shouldn't bring it up.
Groping women without their consent has a jail term
attached to it if charges are filed.

15. Actually, I'm homey as an old shoe
Edited on Mon Sep-01-03 06:31 PM by Jack Rabbit
I can tell you about all the times I've blown grass. I grew up with hay fever. This left me with a pretty poor pair of lungs. Last time I smoked weed, I was congested for three days. It just isn't worth it.

As for orgies, well, if the truth be known I'm probably the shortest man in California who isn't actually a midget or a dwarf. It's hard enough to get one lady with that kind of disadvantage. So I take them one at a time.

As for Arnold, I'm not voting for him. It doesn't have anything to do with his being a party animal years ago. It is because I have this uneasy feeling that he doesn't have a clue what it is like to be governor of a large state. That's a perfectly good reason, isn't it?

17. That is an excellent reason not to vote for Ahhhnuhld
Another reason, as explained by a California voter I was talking to the other day, is that Davis has done nothing worthy of a recall, He is grappling with the same problems (albeit on a larger scale) as most other governors in the country-- and unlike Bu$h, he cannot print money to buy his way out of this mess.

So, that is one California voter who is voting "No" on the recall and "Yes" to Bustamante as a backup.

16. California always gets stuck with a kookball image
because of a few loud mouth out of the norm types like arnie. I am a native California and so were my parents, and we are just normal middle class people like the vast majority of people that are californians, native or not. Probably 95-98% of the people here have not participated in orgies etc and wouldn't even know where to find one if they wanted to! :argh:

22. No there isn't but
reporkers are such hypocrites about it, they condemn Clinton having BJs with one person at a time meanwhile they are participating in group sex. They should just keep their big fat lying self-rightious mouths shut and quit acting like the are virgins. :argh:

23. Oh, don't get jealous

Most of them aren't THAT good, so just because the invitations always happen to arrive a day late doesn't mean...uh, never mind that, uh, STDs yeah, you don't want STDs, do you....

There's always the Playboy jazz festival in the Hollywood Bowl if you're really hard up- the action in the bushes is (so I hear) supposed to be great, don't forget to bring your own hard liquor!

Ok, so I don't actually know anything about orgies in Cali any Salon reader wouldn't already know. But my days in Southern California have left me with the distinct impression that it is/was the easiest place to get laid with nice girls I have lived in for any substantial period of time. (I recommend the Great Lakes for close encounters with the bad kind. Or is that 'of the bad kind'?)

I'm getting pretty sure that Democrats are now always expected/demanded to be a cut better than the Republican competition. It's a double standard, life isn't fair. But, just as the feminist joke about men goes, the sad part is that it's not that hard to be that much better than the Republicans once you realize/accept what the double standard being applied is.

Well, we'll just have to make new ones.

Ahh-nuld is a USER (what Puke isn't???).

Of course his attitudes toward women are horrendous, but you're judging him on group sex? Are all the particpants using/abusing?

I'm of the opinion that AHH-nold Schwarzy should lead nothing more than the cast of a film (though there's considerable debate there as well) but if we want to get into "amoral" sexuality, let's talk about Monica Lewinsky...
