President Bush promises his tax-cut plan will create 1.4 million new jobs in 2003 and 2004

To move his tax cuts for the rich plan through Congress that is what he promised. No equivocating by saying the “British Intelligence Service” thinks that many jobs will be added, no, say it was Bill Clinton’s fault and since we were already in a war against terrorism and Iraq and the Axis of Evil he must stand by that promise.

And if he does not then we should make him eat those words every day next year. Sort of like “Read My Lips.”

He will cut taxes for the rich again, and they won't have to pay stock dividends. So the "economy" (stock market, CEO profits) will be on the rise. Employment will go up, but only for the lowest-paying jobs. Plus, people will be so desperate for work that they won't care if they work sixty hour weeks without overtime pay (thank you, Mr. Bush).


But, next time some FReeper psycho sychophantic dittohead moron tells you that Bush's tax cut helped stimulate the economy, remind him that the President doesn't influence the economy. That was, afterall, their battle cry after Bush made the economy take a dive.

5. There is no way in hell

that those tax cuts are going to create that many jobs, if any at all. By 2003? Uh, got news for ol' Whistle Ass, it is fourth quarter of 2003, and to date we still have a jobloss 'recovery'. And given the speed at which government moves, I don't see anything improving soon.

If you need something to benchmark against, look at how many jobs were created during the internet 'gold rush'. It started in '95 and took three years to really reach a peak where there were ample jobs for anyone who wanted one. The other thing (aside from the fact that Bush said he is going to worry about the 'needs of manufacturers', rather than the needs of those people looking for a job) is that Manufacturing is no longer the dominant industry in America. We've become light industry, technical and service oriented, while many manufacturing jobs have been moved to developing nations. Also, manufacturing jobs are going to do nothing to aid the hundreds of thousands of unemployed software engineers and professionals.
