Poll question: Will you vote for Dean if he wins the nomination?
I just want to see how deep the hatred of the Dean haters is. When this poll was done for Lieberman it was about 50/50 so let's compare.

1. WTF? You think I'd vote for whistle-ass?
No way.....

But, would I vote for Lieberman? I honestly don't know. I do know there's no way I'd vote for Bush, so that would leave a 3rd party candidate.

16. Then, in reality, you would be voting for Bush
Whistle-Ass has to go, so I'd vote for any one I thought could win, regardless if he is my favorite or not.

32. True.... it would be a Green-Nader thing again.
I've reconsidered. I would vote for Lieberman if he were the nominee. Anyone but whistle-ass.

Elizabeth...she's the sweetest person you could ever know, and she and I jab at each other all the time.

But because I'm so fond of her, she makes me much more open to DK and everything about him.

Same thing goes for you. You're a good man.

11. I think AZ is winnable
- * only got 51% there in 2000.
- The Hispanic population continues to grow
- It gained two new congressional districts, one of which is solidly Democratic, the other which is a pure toss up.
- Apparentely people there aren't too happy about the economy.

29. Define "plenty", BB
Because there are maybe a dozen who are virolently prolific on the subject and fewer, I suspect, willing to grease Jr's way into an unimaginable 2nd term.

That forum isn't representative of DU, to my eye. And DU isn't even representative of the Democratic party, much less the whole voting public- well read or not.

Here's the new CBS poll. It reflects Dean's efforts to date but anything could happen. Of the 35% that could name a candidate, more had heard of Dean than any of the others.

42. Wow!
I didnt know that! I had heard there was a poll that said only 35 % could name a dem candidate but I wasn't aware that they had actually asked them to name them. Thats great news :bounce:

It raises a strange question though.

If dean was the most named why does lieberman lead the polls nationally?

we already know the reason for one. any of the other 4 have the courage to show yourselves? If so explain why Dean is so horrible risking 4 more years of Bush is better than simply checking a box next to his name. Unless these are just freeper disruptors.

33. Participants in these polls should check in. They need not indicate
who they voted for. Simply post a check so we know the poll is not polluted.

24. Of course I will vote for him if he is the nominee
Unfortunately, 99% of the rest of the public won't. But, I only have to drive a mile to get killed; so why not. And anyone who is on this board and won't vote for whichever nominee of our party, doesn't belong on the DEMOCRATICundeground---it ain't the rupke or the Green Underground. And I fully expect that all of these Dean lovers (isn't it strange how the Greens disappeared on this board...hmmm) will also support any other nominee of the Dems. (oh, I'm sure there are a whole bunch here who will work to undermine all and any Dems if Dean doesn't get the nomination----damn how do we get across to them that Dean is no Nader - wink, wink).

I'll take that bet. I'll even bet that he gets 55% in November. He is much more palatable than most of the other dems to swing voters.

"I'm sure there are a whole bunch here who will work to undermine all and any Dems if Dean doesn't get the nomination----damn how do we get across to them that Dean is no Nader"

Dean has stated clearly he will throw his support behind whatever dem gets the nomination.

You just dont get it.

This guy is running for president cause he is pissed off just like you and me. Hes running because he wants our country back just like you and me.

Whty are you so angry at him?

35. Yes
I wasn't sure but when he said he'd repeal the tax cut (aka the debt increase) I now lean towards voting for him if he's nominated unless he does something between now and election day that alienates me (which would probably be some sort of economic embrace of the DLC in some manner).
