I happen to like Bob Graham, but he isn't catching fire.

He's well qualified but his personality doesn't seem to breed any kind of excitement that would generate news coverage.

That's too bad. He's a good and honest man.

He's a capable and energetic individual. He'll do Bush more harm right where he is as a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, just in case President Whistle-Ass steals another one in '04.

What we need is a Democratic majority in both U.S. Houses.

5. I'd Guess most of the front runners

have put Graham on the Short List. Dean would need someone who can talk about being strong on defense, and Kerry and Clark need Florida, like you say.

Among all the candidates, Graham is the most experienced at handling legislative affairs and the "cat-herding" that it takes to move legislation through the Senate.

Kerry has Senate experience but I don't think he would be quite as good at it as Graham.

10. He's still the second most electable dem running

I would much rather have him beating my candidate as frontrunner(s) than those we have now.

I don't think his campaign is capable of the jolt required to become top tier.

He's been frank about being from the electable wing of the party, and that was great. I'd like for him to through his support behinf the other candidate from that wing, who is also in a place that can still win the nom.

He is the likely veep candidate for Kerry. Official strategists have actually proposed that ticket numerous times, and Florida GOP strategists have said they might not be able to hold Florida against it.

Edwards could win Florida without Graham, and they would really be in trouble with an Edwards-Graham ticket. That could be a landlslide ticket, and I don't throw around wishful thinking when it comes to electoral politics.

13. Love Bob Graham, but his campaign managers aren't alert.

I called his campaign headquarters twice about things being attributed to him in papers that are untrue.

I got absolutely nowhere. One letter said he signed a letter extolling the virtues of attacking Iraq, but I found the letter on line at PNAC....he did not sign it.

I felt he should respond. I told them so, but I got no call back. I sent links to them. I would have responded myself, as the paper said they would print my letter for sure. However, since I saw they did not care enough to call me back, then I did not care enough to take the flack that would come from questioning the guy who wrote the letter.

I don't blame Graham himself for that, but someone goofed on that one. He would make a good president or VP, but his campaign is not on the ball.

15. As opposed to Dean and Kucinich

the Graham campaign doesn't have a "rapid response" team. The Dean and Kucinich folks are good at staying on top of breaking news and getting their candidates response into the mix. I wish Graham's people would/could do that.

btw: Hats off to the other two campaigns....good organization skills.
