1. I still can't figure out why a UNION invited that idiot.
What're they thinking? Bush cares about UNIONS? Jeez.

6. doubt the union invited them, probably other way around
I bet the idea was that Bush wanted to stage a "working class" appearance on labor day, so they picked a swing state with a (formerly) large manufacturing base, and cherry-picked a union that was least likely to raise a stink.

Don't forget, hardhat guys are still a lot like Archie Bunker ...they are red, white, and blue so they're likely to forgive (or at least tolerate) Bush during a "time of war."

And almost anybody or any group would say "yes" to a presidential invitation of this sort, regardless of political affiliation.

26. No problems
But not worth seeing.

The only good line out of it was, "The crowd didn't seem as enthusiastic as they did at other events."

7. It has to get out there.
People need to see what a hothead and a fake he is. I can't wait to hear the Unions' response when they see him symbolically trash their jacket and logo.

9. Can you IMAGINE if they had a tape like that of Clinton?
It would be papering the WORLD by now. Seems like someone is, at least, thinking twice about releasing it.

11. Not to worry - the 9/11 TV movie
Edited on Tue Sep-02-03 11:08 PM by stopbush
has just shot an additional scene to include yesterday's tantrum:

As bush boards the plane, a group of five burly NON UNION airline workers (featuring the cast of The Sopranos sporting "Dean/Clark '04" flight jackets) attempt to rip the union jacket off bush's back. Matrix-like, bush levitates in the air as he dispatches the "scabs" in a slow-mo kung fu thrashing.

As the thugs lie senseless on the ground, bush reels mid air and faces them, screaming "From my cold, dead hands, you non-union bastards!" before his feet even hit the ground.

As the action returns to normal speed, Karl Rove pokes his head out of the cockpit to announce, "Good news, sir. I just got word that YOUR economy added one million high-paying union jobs since your speech in Richfield this morning!"

"All in a day's work, Karl," beams the triumphant savant, "Now get these French-loving union bashers off MY plane!" (Music swells, Old Glory unfurls in background as a bald eagle circles over AF 1 before landing on bush's shoulder)

To me what it says, is that he thinks he was taken, but does not know for sure.

If a tape is found, would someone pm me, so that I might send it to him.

22. Why was his news man reporting it then?I didn't hear his show til the 2nd
hour so I don't know how it developed.I do know I saw Bush on Cleveland tv walking up the steps of Air Force One,not wearing a jacket and a big round nasty sweat-stain on the back of his shirt.

25. Look on the bright side--His speech on Labor Day bombed
He got coverage for it, but it was not received as a great speech. The protestors got local coverage. Further, his speech and his lame proposals are not even in the news any more.
