WE GOT NEWS FOR YOU: DU and MILLIONS OF PROTESTERS AROUND THE WORLD, and (that's right) the U.N., saw very clearly how complicated the situation was.

I'm sick and tired of this administration telling us everytime something happens, that it was "unforeseen", as in "nobody ever imagined they would use hijacked planes as weapons."

3. It will be interesting to see how the UN responds to this

after months of condescension and being berated for being irrelevant. The UN delegates are wise to the BushCo's MO now. I can only hope they will not bail out the US without some stiff reprimand. The Bush maladministration does not derserve to walk away from this scot-free.

What will happen, then, when BushCo decides to invade Iran or Syria or North Korea? Will the UN become irrelevant again?

Personally, if it were me, I wouldn't trust the Bush cabal to ever 'do the right thing', hence, if I were the UN, I would take over the CPA and make the US maintain a huge security force in Iraq that would come under the auspices of a UN controlled government. This way, the Bush cabal would still be paying for the mess they made, without being free to make more trouble.

Bushco has no real interest in the UN anyway. Powell's going up there and being turned away is just for show and calculated to convince the sheeple that the world won't help us in our great and glorious mission to "bring democracy" to Iraq. As if.

I woul love to see thse arrogant pricks go crawling to "old Europe" and plead for help. The only thing is I don't think they're going to help us, at least not on the terms these fascist assholes are going to insist on. The "chocolate makers" are not going to send their troops to die so that AWOL can get "re"elected, they will insist on UN control of the military force as well as the government of Iraq, and AWOL and von Dumbsfeld are not going to allow that no matter how desperate things get.

The UN should wait until after the 2004 US election. If George Botch* remains in power the US will be the de facto biggest threat to world security and stability, if not and we decide to head back to becoming a civilized memeber of the world community, then maybe we'll deserve to be helped in Iraq.

Until it is clear which course the US will take we deserve to be stuck with the mess that we unilateraly made (and probably will be).

15. Plaid Adder brought up a good point too on another thread.

He said we forgot that the UN was the body who put the sanctions on Iraq for twelve years. They've got their own credibility problems in Iraq too.

This means that France and Germany, having openly opposed the invasion, move up the ladder significantly in terms of getting the spoils.

Lastly, the real danger in asking the UN to get involved is that its not going to be a pretty site when they report to the world that we purposely bombed out the "infrastructure".
