EPA lifts ban on selling PCB sites

The Bush administration has ended a 25-year-old ban on the sale of land polluted with PCBs.
The ban was intended to prevent hundreds of polluted sites from being redeveloped in ways that spread the toxin or raise public health risks.

The decision, already in effect, has not been made public.
It is being treated as a "new interpretation" of existing law, according to the memo, which was obtained by USA TODAY. As such, no public comment was required.

Knowing he couldn't get this thru congress, (the GOP would stop him, not the Democrats)
the son of a bitch just says, "Screw the law, we're going to interpret things this way from now on."

I'll bet the EPA was against this "new interpretation," but is afraid to speak out because they need jobs.
The B.F.E.E. does this all the time. They re-write the logging rules over the objections of the forest service
and they relaxed pollution standards in California just days ago. In every scientific decision, the polluters
and money-grubbers are setting policy. The country loses while the B.F.E.E. wins, again and again.

The environment, civil rights, the economy and that senseless, bloody war.

Where are the Democrats?
