2. I quit watching all mainstream US 'news' media....

and have been much happier for doing so. I used to watch them in the afternoon while working, and I would always end up yelling at the TV.

4. I don't watch any of the cable news programs...

they make me very angry, all they do is lie or not report any of the "real news". I find ABC and CBS will give some "real news".

I watch C-span, Comedy Central, and C-span2. If I want news I go to the internet. My startup page is set for LBN, and I have lots of good bookmarks.

7. The media has been, is, and will always be the major problem

and that is why the people who "GET IT" are writing books about it - Conason, Franken, Alterman and Palast (to some degree). Until the ownership of media is somehow extricated from the clutches of corporate monopoly - we don't have a chance in hell. And that is the true definition of FASCISM - gummit controlled by corporatism.

George, Sr. said it so succinctly - and I'm paraphrasing - If the people really knew what we were up to, they'd run us out on a rail.

But, the corporate media keeps the truth from the public and this did not just begin with election 2000 - it's been going on since W.R. Hearst.

I know it's got a few conservative viewpoints and a flair for sensationalism but in the last coupla weeks CNN's been building up it's negative publicity of bush. Their reporting, when it's not cutsey human interest crap, is actually close to unbiased depending on the anchor. Inside politics is only talking about shrub's mistakes and dem successes, and crossfire has become the "liberals make tucker carlson(and all other conservatives) look like the spoiled, immature whiners"

I try to stay away, but being a bit
of a news junkie its not really
going to happen.

Of all the cable news networks I do
find CNN to be the least pro republican.

Sometimes they even seem friendly to
democratic views.....maybe its my
imagination.
