BBV: How many counties in California...

are already touch screen equipped? If some are so equipped and others are not...it might be worth watching those counties real close. My gut says that this is a dress rehersal for 2004. My tinfoil is firmly in place and buzzing, always a bad sign. So if someone has those answers plese reply. If we don't have this info...where can I get it?

Pasadena, LA County, you can use either touchscreen or paper.

2. Here's my take on it

First, touch screens aren't the only computerized voting systems. Optical scans are computerized too. They too can record a different thing than what the ballot says. In fact, there have been reports of them:

* Discarding (not counting) straight line party votes (FL 2000??)
* Allowing voters in GOP areas to correct overvotes caused by stray pencil marks, while not bothering to alert Dem (often black or Latino areas) that their ballot was rejected (FL 2000?)
