4. That's nothing new, at least 70% of the products sold by. . .

. . . The Disney Company at their Disney Stores and Theme parks are from China. Virtually all of the model trains by the popular name companies (Lionel, MTH, K-Line, Williams, etc) are made in China. Most of our manufactured consumer hard appliances are Chinese made. Toys, clothing anything that has to do with labor intensive machine made items are made in China. Check the labels.

Big ticket items like consumer electronics, large durable appliances (washers, dryers, etc) are coming from the far east including Japan, South Korea, Taiwan.

The U.S. out-sources to these countries because: a) cheap plentiful labor, b) far less environmental regulations, c) far less labor protection and safety considerations, d) our government policies and tax codes have encouraged the movement of this type of manufacturing abroad because U.S. firms collect royalties on the millions of product and process patients given to these countries.

I wonder what these growing economies will look to America for?

coupla years ago I finally ventured into a WalMart, in Mississippi, no less. thought I'd check it out, why not?

I started picking up things and seeing where they were made and I'll be damned if I couldn't find ONE THING that wasn't made in China.

Haven't stepped back in one since.
