RULES DO NOT APPLY !

LIE ABOUT A WAR ? NO PROBLEM , YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN !
HAVE OVER 300 US SOLDIERS DIE BECAUSE YOU LIED ,
NO PROBLEM, CUZ YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN.

but dare you be a Democrat who has consensual sex

HAVE GROUP SEX? RAPE A GIRL AT THE GYM ? NO PROBLEM !
IF YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN !! JUST RUN FOR OFFICE !!!
YOU ARE PERFECT !!! ARNOLD IS THE PERFECT GOP CANDIDATE ! -
VIOLENCE, GUNS, RAPE, DRUG USE, NAKED PICTURES WITH GIRLS

THAT OK !! WHY? BECAUSE YOU ARE A REPUBLICAN !!!

BE A REPUBLICAN AN YOU GET TO RAPE PILLAGE STEAL CUZ
THATS THE RT-WING WAY.

KENNY BOY STOLE BILLION$ & BILLION$ , BUT THATS OK,
BECAUSE HE'S BUSH'S BEST BUDDY.

But dare insider trade $37,000 in profits like Martha,
AND BE A DEMOCRAT,
(and ONLY owe tax on that trade...so about only
$14,800 is owed, based on 40% tax rate)

31. don't forget . . .
don't forget all the people death penalty George sent--some on dubious grounds--to the gas chamber when he was governor of Texas. Remember too that African American, Latino, not a few women, and people from poor backgrounds are punished severely for offences a lot less heinous than those committed by the bush clan. The Bush legacy of getting off no matter what they do continues with the daughters and ofcourse with the druggy daughter of governor Jeb of Florida.

Like it or not, we have a double standard going on here. If you're rich and powerful you get away literally with murder. think how long it was before justice caught up with ethel kennedy's nephew, but If you're poor and disenfranchised you could be in the shits for shoplifting.

Laura may not be in jail, but that does not mean we should forget what she did and what she got away with.

12. The point is how the MEDIA handles these "tragedies."
Quote--"Midland officials would not release the full accident report, referring Freedom of Information requests for the document to the attorney general of Texas. He has until May 15 to decide if he will make the report public."

Why is Clinton made a laughing-stock because of his "I didn't inhale" pot comments while coke-spoon Bush and his party-hearty boyfriend killer wife get the "it was a regrettable incident" treatment?

Even the police are working for the Bush-istas. Check out the above quote. Put off the report for a few months until everybody forgets about it.

BTW, did the full report ever come out?

She was a teenager. It was an accident. What does bringing it up accomplish? Do you think there aren't Democrats who have been involved in tragic car accidents in the past? And do those accidents say anything about them? Of course not.

This is really repugnant. I would expect this kind of thing from you know who.

I had a dear student of mine who, at age 17, killed an old woman at an interscetion near my house. She got a ticket...it was an accident! Ironically, my daughter had a wreck at the very same intersection. Totalled her car, but both drivers came away unharmed.

She was drunk and driving recklessly, and didn't seem to give a damn about what she did. She cared more that it had come out than she did what happened. And if this were Hillary or another Dem, it wouldn't matter if it were FIFTY years, you'd never hear the end of it, with their blather about how it showed her "true character", etc., etc.

34. I remember that quote. Saw it in People magazine -
I think it was the one with the dual cover, during the campaign, and it had Tipper Gore and Laura on the cover. It WAS her reaction when People Magazine included it. But as I recall it, her response was "I'm sorry it happened, and I'm sorry it was reported." Pretty close. I will NEVER forget my reaction to it - gee, Laura, which are you sorrier about? "Sorry it was reported"?????????

I agree with the other posts here - if that had been Hillary, they'd have built a guillotine with her name on it. So, frankly, since they wanna play it like this, I think maybe it's time to give 'em back a taste of it.

Anyway, you do that to a bully, and the bully crumbles. You "take the high road" and make nice-nice and you get nothing but continued abuse.

Sorry it's come to that, but it has, and it's not us good guys making it happen.

Don't get me wrong. I bash Bush with the best of them. I bash Bush in my sleep.

BUT, this is misleading and I think unfair. Barbara Bush was not drinking when this happened. She lost a boyfriend and I'm pretty sure, despite marrying a complete scumbag, that she was probably very hurt by what happened that day.

Who knows. I guess what I'm trying to say is lets base our attacks on Bush and leave his wife alone. It just makes us look like sick bullies (Just like the Republicans who went after Hillary so harshly.)

18. Leave her alone
Come on, she was 17 years old, and Midland did not release the reports because she was a minor. There is not a SHRED of evidence that suggests any alcohol was involved in either party, and your link even says that is was neither's fault. I live in the Midland area and the place where her accident occured has had several more accidents since then. As somebody mentioned earlier, there are plenty of us Democrats who have been in accidents.

28. I agree, leave her alone on this issue but if anyone thinks she is some
kind of frail flower or someone that you need to feel sorry for I would suggest reading the old Newsweek article where she is quoted. She was obviously very involved in the political process. In the article she is quoted as taking George to task for not doing well enough with the campaign. They remind me of the Royal family in the UK in the way they approach public appearances as a part of the business and want to maintain a certain illusion about who and how they are. She's in it up to her eyebrows. Like Babs Sr. said, I've always been rich, I like being rich. When she met Bab's Sr Babbo asked her what she did and she replied I smoke and I read. Bet nothing much about that has changed. Most worthless first lady in the last 50 years.

Edited on Thu Sep-04-03 06:29 PM by deseo
Bill Janklow ran a stop sign and killed a man?

Of course it was. And I have no doubts that what happened with the first lady was an accident.

But, if you fail to yield right of way and kill someone with your vehicle, it becomes more than an accident, it is a crime.

Do I think it is a good idea to "go after" Ms. Bush on this issue? No, not really. But like it or not it is just another example of how the well-to-do get away with things that some poor kid from the wrong side of the track would never get away with.

It is the kind of double-standard in our society that *really* ticks me off.

The rules of the game must be the same for everyone.

I grew up white in the segregated South. African Americans were ridiculed for each and every misdeed. The few white Southerners who stood up for African Americans were ridiculed as well. And white Southerners who pointed out the faults of other whites were shunned.

Look at what happened to the Dixie Chicks. People on both sides of the political aisle need to know that Democrats will fight back. Otherwise the bullies will just keep on bullying.
