Is the Bush Administration conducting a coordinated attack in an attempt to destroy the UN? First you have a congress member asking for Annan resignation, and now the pResident says the UN needs to come clean. Could they be using the Food for Oil program as an attack at destroying the UN?

4. You have to ask,

is this a bad thing. The UN has proven to be ineffective at either restraining the US, or in fighting genocide and slavery in Africa. Perhaps, if the UN is destroyed, even by the evil * cabal, something better will take its place. Mammals, and man, didn't, and couldn't, arise until the dinosaurs became extinct. In the same way, an effective force for peace may be awaiting the passing of the UN.

but the passing of the League was not the cause of the war. The failures of the League were the cause of its passing.

When the Articles of Confederation 'passed', we got the Constitution. It would be nice if the UN could be made a force for true peace and justice, but as now constituted it seems rather waste of resources, doesn't it. Did it prevent genocide in Africa? What is it doing about slavery in Africa? Does it have a plan to eradicate female genital mutilation in various Muslim countries? I haven't heard of it. All it can do is complain, usually about the US, but it doesn't have a plan for that, either.

I think that, as it is presently structured, the UN accomplishes nothing useful. the UN must think so, too, as there are several restructuring plans being considered by them.

you know darn well that the U.S. (the Poppy Bush kind of Republicans) have used any and all excuses possible to get at the UN... even going back to the times of Jesse Helms in the Senate who was a leading voice against the UN.

AND FOR WHATEVER OTHER REASONS the bush goons may also want the UN out of their predatory hands now that people like Chris Matthews are rumoring about BILL CLINTON possibly joining the UN in some sort of capacity.

You know that if they did the right thing they would be standing up for the UN and for Koffi Annan, giving up on their dream of owning the world, PRAISING BILL CLINTON AND ENLISTING HIS SERVICE IN FINDING A PEACEFUL SOLUTION TO THEIR TAKE OVER OF THE WORLD.
