It's not bad enough that we have to see these radical cleric fundamentalists as supposed experts on "moral values" on shows like Meet the Press, but CNN sinks to a new low with allowing him to become a talk how host! You can see how uncomfortable he is as he tries to tone down his anti-hate rhetoric to appear moderatley sane!

5. I have been thinking the same thing...

Treated as a man of virtue and holiness, Falwell has said some of the most outrageously bigoted things and has gotten a pass every single time. Replace this the words gay, lesbian or liberal in this guys rhetoric with black or Jew and see what it looks like. Yet another example of the crazy shit this country will accept so long as it's cloaked in Christianity.

I'm not into boycotts and have never participated in one... but I'm done with CNN.

4. I haven't watched Crossfire in ages

but that's because I just haven't been watching that much tv news lately. I was just now getting back into monitoring the news again so I might have ended up watching again.

However, that's all changed now. With this move, I'm now boycotting the show.

There was a time when Falwell and his ilk were marginalized for being the lunatics that they are. Now you can't turn around without seeing or hearing their hateful rhetoric. What is going on exactly?

Right now I don't believe that the majority of the public would go along with this nonsense BUT the media has a way of creating reality simply by repeating the same thing over and over again. Since the sElection, there's been a nonstop barrage of stories about the "Christian" extremists and inroads they are making. What happens if more and more people see Falwell and co. on TV and begin to take that as a validation of his agenda? I'm not a fan of censorship but I am also not a fan of giving airtime to those who rant about killing innocent people in the name of religion. I will be contacting my cable company and having CNN blocked.
