1. I couldn't agree more................

If are principles are right, and we believe they are, then the country can't run successfully headed in the wrong direction. We need to stick to what we know is true, be a beakon of light in a dark world. People will see that things are going wrong and come to us if we stand strong.

2. We can't abandon our principles, we just need to do a better job of

selling them and stop sitting back and let the repukes slam the term liberal as being bad or wrong.
We need to show America what is right about being Liberal and point out what liberals have done in the past that help them and they are now loosing.
We are Democrats because of our principles, not just to be on the other side.
If you want to win you must do a better job than your opponent. The repukes took years setting up for the shrub regime and it will take us time to unravel it.
Stick to your principles and work in every way to sell Liberal or Progressive ideals.
Don't give up to the mass of idiots out there.

6. I agree they took years of organizing

in the seventies and eighties - getting propoganda think tanks going and hooked in... later getting very media savvy... and cornering the message market.

I actually think that in a few short years the left has more quickly and more effectively begun to organize to build a counter infrastructure... am hopeful that it will pay off in the near future - if we keep to our issues - keep to the grassroots - and keep getting more and more folks better informed on the news as it breaks...

We need a basic core message that at least 55% of the country can support. Something basic like personal freedom or equal economic opportunity, but we must have something. There is no central theme to the Democratic Party right now.

We should NOT change our core beliefs. No how. No Way. We can allow them to evolve, but only as *we* evolve. Evolution is good. Change for the sake of appealing to some group or other? Change to appeal to the "red states"? No fucking way.

Rather than change our positions, I would much rather we change our image. And in today's world, like it or not, image is everything.

Perception really is the new reality.
