off the board, as well as anti-Semitism. (The closest to anti-Semitism that crops up are opinions similar to Pat Buchanan; these are usually vigorously opposed by FReepers who are generally pro-Israel.) There is a divergence of opinion on FR about immigration and such issues; again, the moderators are alert to clear racism. There used to be a divergence of opinion on the war, but nowadays, it's all pro-Bush, all pro-war.

<p>But where FR is definitely a hate web site is when the topic turns to homosexuality, which it often does. Many posters claim homosexuals are prone to sexual abuse of children, and many postings describe homosexuals as diseased sexual addicts. Often, when the topic is AIDS, posters make light of the suffering of gay men or show no sympathy. These postings are not always removed by the moderators. There are some members of FR who will complain about this or argue with other posters about homosexuality, but they are a decided minority.
