LOS ANGELES, CA (PRWEB) December 2, 2004 -- The liberal blogosphere can once again claim victory in their effort to clean up extremist, right-wing websites. Even before the first one was sold, a t-shirt which depicts a hooded Abu Ghraib prisoner being tortured, MetroSpy had yanked the item from its inventory. This news comes only one month after another t-shirt company, T-shirtHell.com, was ordered by eBay lawyers to stop selling an offensive t-shirt that read, "I bought Christopher Reeve's wheelchair on eBay"
Of particular concern to some human rights advocates is the degree to which these companies would exploit the humiliation and pain of others. The Abu Ghraib prisoner shirt is by far the worst but a short review of the MetroSpy website reveals several other t-shirts which are just as ghoulish and blood-thirsty. "I really have to question whether this is in the best of taste", said John Holbo of the democratic weblog John & Bell."These people must be lunatics"
'Support the Fallujah Marine', a t-shirt which shows a Marine standing over a dead Iraqi insurgent, has also been targeted by various liberal discussion boards and blogs. Only two days after posting the shirt for sale, MetroSpy has become inundated with email requests to pull the product from its website. So far, MetroSpy has refused.
