I have to be honest after I watched his actions I don't think that I heard what he was saying because his actions spoke louder than words.

I agree that this incident was over the top. If I were in uniform in that audience, and he had said that "we go to war with the army we have, not the army we want," I would have been pissed.

My first response would have been, "well, buddy, then you go find the "army you want" and I'll just go home. Thanks for the support."

I think Rumsfeld was embarassed and PO'd that the audience cheered the soldier's question.

I found it incredibly offensive. I haven't seen video, but I've read written accounts, and just even his choice of words carried the subtext "Fuck the troops." I fucking loathe that man with every ounce of my being. :grr: I'd like to send him to Fallujah in an unarmored vehicle.
