Ok I'm Pissed!!!!

My husband just came home and bought our 6 year old a gas powered chopper for Christmas. It's a small version of the real thing. He paid over $400 for it. Oh I'm going to scream Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! ok I feel better.:grr:

Why not give him a toy that makes him exercise rather than one that starts him early on a lifetime of riding around in motorized vehicles?

He's already got a go kart. hubby teaches them how to drive so that when they are ready to drive they have the expertise.

14. A bike or kick scooter would be much more appropriate.

Driving those things does nothing to prepare them for the defensive driving necessary to deal with traffic on the roads. It does help hook them on speed at an early age, though.

I would never give my kids any motorized vehicles before they drive a car (and they will not have permission to do that until they are 18.)

I don't want to glorify a sedentary lifestyle to my kids. They are kids. They are supposed to be outside sunning, biking, skating, playing, etc.

They will spend enough of their lives in adulthood shackled to a cubicle or commuting. Why get them started at age 6?

would cover both boys and a little left over. depending i can spend anywhere from 50 to a little over a hundred per child, just depending on the year. 6 year old attention span, not a chance. not even the big presents like bicycle. this i am just adding, the more i think about it the more i am going into giggle.

11. ahh your hubby just wants your kid to have the things he would have

wanted if HE were that age...he's just a big grown up kid who wants to see your 6 year old's eyes light up when he opens that gift.

If you can afford it and if the kid is coordinated enough to play with it safely, I'd go give him a hug..he loves his kid.

BTW..having been a tomboy when I was a kid..if my dad came home with a gas powered chopper for me..he woulda been king shit in my eyes..actually he was anyway.

13. Check your local laws. Some places are requiring a license

for mini-motorcycles and some places are opting for an outright ban on them

The "pocket" bikes, as they are generally called, usually say the driver must be at least 12 years of age...the warning can be found on the box. I've read the warning myself.
