3. He'd be great because what we need right now are ambassadors |
|
but unfortunately, when people I know think of Carter, they instantly recall Iran and high gas prices (and knowing how teflon-coated these neo-con bullies are, the truth will never be widely accepted.)

4. High interest rates and inflation? Was he TRYING to kill the economy? |

I don't see him pulling a Cleveland anytime in the near future.
Another thing: Cleveland won the popular vote, but Harrison won the electoral college. Carter lost in a landslide.

Jimmy Carter lost pretty hard to Reagan... would we want to bring that embarassment back to haunt us? What's next, Dukakis 2008?

6. IIRC, Reagan was an embarassingly bad candidate |
|
when he ran against Ford for the nomination and again against Carter in '76- (caveat- I'm not old enough to remember this CLEARLY-lol)
I don't think Carter would stand a snowball's chance in hell because of the smear job the neo cons did. However, he'd be great as a prez because he walks his talk (and vice versa)- but since that apparently isn't considered a character issue anymore, that wouldn't buy him much credibility.
