With due respect to Christians on this Forum, I must say that the

face of Christianity that most of the masses of the world have seen is quite different from what we have been led to believe in this country.In my extensive travels in Asia,many very intelligent Chinese, Japanese and Indian people have told me that Christianity in Asia is associated with Colonialism and Imperialism in their minds. They have also argued that Christianity has long condoned slavery, Apartheid and the concept of the inferiority of certain races which led to segregation in our own South and the illegal concentration camps for Japanese Americans.As a Christian, I have tried to argue that there is no scriptural sanction for any of these practices and true Christians will not be a party to any of these demeaning practices.

I just want to make it clear that Asians, and very well read ones at that, do not buy into the picture painted by the Falwells and Robertsons.

It's a self-righteous cover for their evil agenda. Point by point, what the New Testament truly says refutes everything these charlatans stand for. and when i read your post i agree and disagree -- look at korean christianity -- as reactionary as anything you would see here, or africa as zealous and sexist and self righteous as though it had sprung from bob jones u. full blown.
i would say that right now -- the christian well spring is contaminated. and badly at that.

People claiming to be Christians but not taking responsibility for the evil being done in the name of their religion.

In other words, "Believe as I do, or you are not a true Christian."

Is not Christianity bases on Christ? Was not Christ a liberal, hippie, Jew that went around helping the less fortunate and down trodden?
Christ was no Christian. I think he would have a problem with what was done in his name through the ages.


What does one usually think of when one thinks of Christianity? War? "Onward Christian Soldiers?" The burning of the great Library of Alexandria because the Christian god was not mentioned in the science books? The Crusades? The almost 1500 years of the Dark Ages? Iraq and the good Christian, god fearing soldiers, shooting innocent Iraqis sleeping in their beds or women and children waving white surrender flags? Yeah, I know "True Christians" would not do that?
Then why do they?
