I heard it on Ed Shultz' show and Ed's no fan of MoveOn either. Sounded like he never really knew anything about them.These "centrist" dems or repub lites, whatever, are ripping into the heart of progressive dems. They're trying to skewer dean, Moore, MoveOn, McKinney and anyone else who is pissed off that we lost and may well have been cheated again.

Fuck 'em. If they choose a milk toast centrist loser to chair the DNC I'm gone. Back to the Greens or anyone with a vision.

there is no room for liberals/progressives in the party. I thought we were the 'party of inclusion'? To me, this is self-defeating behavior on the part of the Democratic 'leadership.'

The DLC was doing the same thing recently (I watched the re-run on C-Span this weekend of the meeting they had on "the future of the Democratic Party."). They were basically bashing Michael Moore, basically saying he doesn't speak for the Democratic Party. Hey, DLC, I got news for you: YOU DON'T NECESSARILY SPEAK FOR ALL OF US, EITHER!

Too hard to start from the outside. We need to create a momentum shift from within, starting at the local level. McAuliffe pissed me off with his rant because they seem to want to minomalize the progressive side of the party. Dean brought me here and they stillwant nothing to do with him. Maybe he wouldn't have been the best Presidential candidate, but he sure got people energized and out making things happen.

We need a lot more of that and a lot less Corporate whoring.

If Dean were willing to work as a second-banana-in-title and produce results immediately, he would wield real power at a choke point in the system. But if he is just interested in the glory/TV appearances, how is he any different from the other candidates?

But real power is more important. I dont know whether if is doable. But if Dean could slyly look like he is willing to be a party man (and a doer, instead of a yakker), it seems to me that he could quietly become the effective, de facto party head by amassing a clean treasury that would make heads spin. More importantly, he would be the power broker and gate-keeper for the new progressive majority.

While all the traditional suits are satisfied playing their game, Dean could be quietly busy taking over the party mechanism. I dont know if his he is willing to forego a few ego strokes early on. But when his leadership would come to fruition 18-24 months from now, he would have that too in addition to the death grip on the DNC. That's how they use to do it in the old Kremlim. Take the reins and look like the hired help for awhile, and then become the top dog with all the levers at your command.
