No surprises from Texas in Electoral College vote
Bush-Cheney ticket officially wins the state by a count of 34-to-0
Houston Chronicle
"AUSTIN - It's official.(No Shit)Texas backs President George W. Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney for another term in the White House.
Texas' 34 Republican members of the Electoral College gathered at the state Capitol on Monday and formally cast their votes for Bush and Cheney."

"Texas has never had an elector defect from the popular vote for a candidate. There was little chance of any last-minute changes on Monday: Republican electors signed pledges before they were selected at the state convention, promising to vote for Bush if he won the state."
Serious question. What happens if they find out the truth? I understand the the elector would be breaking a contract, but what if it was the other way around? If only somebody had the balls and just say, For the safety of our country, I can not and I will not cast my vote for the President. Oh I am sorry, I must have been day dreaming again. Back to the nightmare.
I hope everybody had a lite breakfast, this is where you want hurl, it is nauseating.

"But this was a day for the Texas GOP. Many of the electors wore red, white and blue and the ceremony included pledges to the American and Texas flags and singing the Star Spangled Banner and America the Beautiful.
College defended as vitalFor some of the electors, it was an emotional day.
During roll call, elector Tom Cotter announced himself as "Present, by the grace of God," while Peter Wrench said he attended in memory of victims of the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.Although the Electoral College has been criticized as an antiquated system, elector Barbara Thompson Grusendorf defended it as
vital to forcing candidates to pay attention to the needs of voters around the country, not just the largest states.
'It's something we need to keep,' she said."
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/metropolitan/2945504I wish Barbara could really explain her logic to me. Maybe I slept in History class when they went over the Electoral College, but wasn't the creation of the Electoral College just to do the opposite. We the stupid people could not make the right choice in determining a leader of the free world, so the Elector College yada yada yada. I guess our Founding Fathers didn't see this coming.
How come the Shrub did not listen to us during his first term, didn't the majority of America vote for Gore?
