Poll question: For 2000 Gore/Bush watchers of 1st debate only! |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-05-03 04:56 PM by Jim Sagle
Did Gore's face appear bright orange or normal? And which network did you watch?
(I'll reveal the reasons for the poll after some results accumulate. This is a research poll.)

You need a choice for that.

2. know where you are going with this |
|
everyone is gonna know where you are going with this. it's not exactly subtle.
btw....i remember that night well because i tried to make Al look normal by playing with the color level tint contrast numbers.
it didn't work. i could get him normal but then everything was washed out. he was wering the wrong shade of make-up period.

it looked to me like gore's makeup crew tried to give him a "healthy glow" but they went way overboard.

7. Don't remember anything unusual. But: |
|
we knew the media whores were going to give the debate to W, no matter how ROTTEN he was.
And they did. IMO, Gore's fate was sealed at that moment.

At least about the media giving the debate to whistle ass. The first polling after the debate had Gore winning and widening his lead. Bush jr. moved into a lead after the press bashed Gore for days for doing the same things they had praised him for against Ross Perot & Bill Bradley.

a story in some newsmagazine about how one of the lights over Gore's podium went out before the debate or something and this affected how he looked onscreen. Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

11. I saw the debate on CNN, and Gore was bright orange. |
|
Then I saw a rehash on Geraldo, and he looked normal. Geraldo of course was on MSNBC then, but that doesn't mean the clip he showed was from MSNBC.
My theory was that some networks - including CNN - had gimmicked the signal somehow to exaggerate Gore's skin tones. The data don't show that - and there really isn't enough date to prove anything.
Sorry - but I just got the urge to play detective.
