Colorado Springs Gazette giving out free Bibles with tomorrows paper!

caught this on the local news last night, the local rag, the Gazette will be distributing papers with a free 200 page bible in them to subscribers tomorrow. they convieniently forgot to mention who is behind this, but i'd put money on it being Jim Dobson and Co.

anybody want to donate money so i can (attempt to) pay to put copies of, say the Koran(sp?) in the paper, to help put this in perspective to the fundies here? ah, if only i had the means. sure would be fun.

i won't have the pleasure of recieving a copy, i don't subscribe, go figure. maybe i'll ask one of my good christian co-workers to share theirs.

i think it would be cool to compile a "best of" made of exerpts from ALL the other major religuos documents, etc. and try to get them to distribute that, why do i think it would be met with opposition?

Bushco? Pat Robertson? Jerry Falwell? oooo,, the bible by Jerry Falwell would be a very scary thing.

9. Which version?

If it's The Book or The Living Bible they're really giving out copies of The Bible for Dummies.

And any version of the bible with the word New in the title of the version is a piece of shit, too (including The New Jerusalem Bible).

In fact, anything other than The Jerusalem Bible, Student's Edition is pretty crappy, IMO. Unfortunately, that version is all bu unobtainable and my last copy was damaged when I moved several years ago.

I highly recommend reading some of the older versions and comparing it to the pieces of shit the fundies pass off these days. You will shocked and awed at the agenda being pushed by these assholes.
