The Christian "Right" Movement.... |
|
Edited on Tue Dec-21-04 12:11 PM by marc_the_dem
It just struck me as I watched a re-run of Monty Python's Flying Circus... There's a skit where a bunch of religious zealots bust into the room and say.... "No One Expects the Spanish Inquisition!"
So I say to you now....
No One Expects the Christian Right Inquisition!

1. That skit has run through my mind quite a bit over the past few months. |
|
Glad to hear I'm not alone.
Although it runs through mostly because of the way bushco has suppressed any real dissension in his offices and in government agencies. The torturing of prisoners also brings it to mind as well.
Remember, the new democracy sliences dissension and brings only those who think like you to the table.

What do you think is going on at Gitmo? Our illustrious and "humble" christian president now feels the need to "love" the illegally-held detainees at Gitmo into submission by encouraging their torture? I'm just glad there's an organization like the ACLU that's not beholden to JesusLand to bring such things to light.

3. The Christian Right = the Moral Majority |
|
just words put together as slogan for something not Christian or moral. When we use the spin it has to encompass alot more than what sells to a bunch of old white guys entrenched in an old dream that doesn't work, never did and never will. The world wants a simple life but it has evolved and does everyday. The right is great at slogans and ads that tell people what they want and that they can buy it.They are good closers for a product that doesn't exist (think junk bonds) and when they get caught they can sell thier way out of a jam. There doesn't seem to be a simple slogan for the truth.

The fundies must absolutely love the Book of Joshua. Afterall, it's about a foreigner leading his people into a long conquest into a Middle East country.
